1st spear; a worried, confused intro

She opened her eyes to finding herself in a flower field on her stomach, sprawled out, with a small white dog licking her.
...Wait, Daisy wasn't that small.
"D-Daisy?" She asked tentatively, and the little mutt barked in agreement, licking her again. "Why are ya so small...and whatta we doin' out here?" Pushing herself up, another odd sensation, Nephenee looked around. There was a small town over a little ways off, but she wasn't quite close enough to see the residents walking around as more than blobs. Well, first point of issue down. There was a settlement, she could find out where she was and how to get back home.
Second part, figure what she had to work with, itemwise. Okay, armor, shield & spear on her back...good. But, and she just realized this, she was pretty low to the ground still. Why was that?
And, looking at the ground still, she stepped forward.
And saw a hoof.
Someone outside the city probably heard her scream.]
[Hello, Ponyville. A magic scroll just appeared in front of you. Do you open it?
>> Very yes
Duh
The scroll opens, and there's a dazed teal haired, blue pony (in armor and with a shield and spear on her back, staring back at the scroll. All she can see is you on the 'screen', and it's unlike anything she's seen before. Magic? (Well yes, but she doesn't know magic like that.) Seems she tapped the 'visual' part of the scroll, and set it off.
In any case, she decides to try to speak to the screen. Oh, and the voice is extremely southern.]
Uh...h-hello? Can anyone hear me? Aw, who am ah kiddin, this has gotta be a dream. Scrolls don't show stuff like this, and people don't turn inta ponies.. A-anyhow...can someone tell me where we are? Mah doggie and ah got lost and...something turned us into a pony an' a smaller dog..
This is just a dream, right?

Re: visual
[Oh! Another person in the same position as she?]
I ain't ever seen anythin' like this...is it like some sorta magic?
Re: visual
Re: visual
Ah...have no idea what you just said. Ah'm sorry, ah don't know nothing 'bout magic, except what little mah friend Callil told me, and that was just about her anima tomes.
Um, ah'm Nephenee, by the way. And this here is Daisy. [Little white doggie gives a bark in acknowledgement] Are you from somewhere else too?
Re: visual
I'm Ako. And I'm from Kanon Town by way of Mayfield.
Re: visual
Ah ain't heard of that place before...don't sound like it's in Tellius.
[No Neph, it's not.]
Ah'm from Ohma originally, but now mah family and ah live in the capital, Melior. That's in Crimea.

If it helps, you are far from the only one this has happened to--Pteragordon and I were similarly transformed!
[Visual]
Sure looks like it...what coulda done this? One of the others said magic, but ah ain't ever heard of magic like this...
[Technically she has, but they don't seem to be able to change back into human shapes like Laguz, so she dismisses that idea for now.]
...Uh, not ta pry, but what's that there thing on your head?
[Visual]
[He looks up at what she might mean, then grins.]
Oh, this is Pteragordon! He is...usually not quite so small. And is usually more mechanical.
[Visual]
[She smiles at the dinosaur]
Hiya, Pteragordon! Nice ta meet ya. This here's Daisy. [Named dog pokes her head into the screen and barks in greeting.]
[She does tilt her head at the last word]
Meh-can-eh-cul?
[Visual]
[Well, at least their confusion appears to be mutual as Pteragordon gives Daisy a squawk and wingflap of acknowledgement.]
Yes, mechanical! Made of metal, somewhat!
[He is pretty much the worst person ever to try to explain robots to anyone, seeing as how he barely understands the concept himself...]
[Visual]
Uh...Ah guess the best way to describe 'em would be...they're a race that can change from an animal ta...not quite human, but close? Like, the Beast laguz still have tails and ears like cats? They're one o' the two races back home. If I remember right humans an' them are related if ya go way back.
[And now the headtilt is the other way.]
Metal? Like what ya make a sword or spear outta?
[Mind. Blown.]

...Ah can understand why ya'd record the oldest person, but fingernails? That sounds kinda gross.
[She keeps hers fairly neat. Or at least short, since you can't have them getting in your way at the farm.]

Just imagine that face on a pony and you've got her reaction.]

What ho, miss! I'm afraid it isn't a dream as near as we've been able to tell. The standard pinch and dousing with water hasn't helped in any case. You're in Equestria now and just about everyone's been saddled with equine features to match the native population. Are you entirely all right? It's something of a shock. I nearly swooned when I woke up here. Not a little embarrassing for a chap.
Visual; also 'saddled'? I c wut u did thar
[Whoa, slow down, pony. That was super fast. Ok. After she processes that quick speech, she responds in a much slower tempo.]
It is a bit hard ta think about. 'Specially since it means mah Ma and siblin's don't got me to help around the farm. Ah think ah'm alright, though...just confused.
How long have ya been here, Sir...
[visual]
Well, we have got a bit of a theory on that. Time, I mean. There are birds and beazels who've had this happen before: hopping to a new universe. They said it sort of, well, stops. And then goes sort of wibbly while you're here. Presumably. I mean, the Doctor's said it's wibbly all the time, and he is a Time Lord. Well, one of them is. The other's half-ish way there.
[Bertie realizes he's giving away Handy's secret again and forces himself to stop babbling down that road.]
Yes. Hah! Well. I'm just going to change the topic now to keep you from inquiring further on that. I've been here roughly four months, I think. We're trying to get everything hashed out with why we're here and whatnot, but in the interim.
[He shrugs.]
Have you been offered accommodations, yet? We've got a farm just the edge of town set up for anyone willing to help out. Well, er... It's sort of a farm now. The chappie running it got murdered not too long ago. N-not because he was running the farm!
[That seems important to point out. Bertie does wish he could just smack himself a good one for casually blurting out there'd been a murder, though.]
[visual]
[WOOSH. All of that but the last bit? Over her head by a mile. She looks at him with a flummoxed look on her face until he gets to the end.]
Uh, no sir. Ah can't say anybody's done that. Ah just got here an all, so ah and Daisy been kinda under tables and stuff out here 'fore the city. But ya got a farm, ya say?
...Somebody got killed?
[Worried look get.]
[visual]
[He smacks himself at that. Not exactly the highest recommendation.]
We've got him contained, though! And he's got a guard and really he was absolutely bananas when he did it, so it's not likely to happen again. I'm still frightfully worried it will-
[And now his hoof is going to cover his mouth because this is really not how you recruit a filly to a farm.]
[visual]
[It's okay, Bertie. She's dealt with bad guys before.
Surprisingly she's fairly unperturbed.]
Well, as long as he's got someone with 'em who can handle him...And if they need help, ah can keep mah spear an' shield handy, jus' in case.
Would it be alright if ah helped out with the farm? If ah'm stuck here, ah might as well help out, 'specially if ah'm allowed to live there. Ah ran out farm back home, so it ain't too much trouble.
