I dunno, "doesn't get along with others" to "insult everyone else for my ego's sake" seems like a pretty big jump to me.

I might have called him a good friend while pointing out he was deliberately being bad enough to seem bad at it, and he might have taken that as a challenge.

So he took it upon himself to actually be a bad friend. Great.

'Cuz trolls aren't supposed to be good at friendship. It's a species-pride thing. You get turned into something you're not, you start playing up the things that still identify you as what you are.

That still sounds more like a cultural norm than a biological factor, though.

Is there really that much of a difference? I mean, if you went to another world, wouldn't you try to be the best pony you could be?
