[The scroll opens to show the human Gentarou and Captain Celestia standing around talking to each other. Neither seem to be addressing the scroll, so it seems like they do not realize it is recording.]

So as you can see, the amount of Cosmic Energy that goes into a person is directly proportional to the amount of friends they have. It’s why I’m swimming with it right now, since I have more than 1000 friends all over the worlds.

I have never heard of Cosmic Energy before, but when you describe it like that, I have definitely seen its effects. Have you been here long enough to hear of Nightmare Moon’s first return?

I was here for the second one at least. Well, when it involved Twilight of course. But I wasn’t here for the first one. Oh, and the wielders used the elements on Lyra too.

It seems they have been quite active lately. I have to wonder if the Elements may actually function with the same sort of Cosmic Energy? They do gain significant power when its bearers are close friends with one another.

That would explain the KRC, the Kamen Rider Club. My ultimate form, Cosmic States is empowered by our strong friendship bonds. When JK wavered, I literally lost the ability to become Cosmic.

That is too similar to the Elements to be coincidence. If so, this energy may very well exist in multiple universes under different names. I believe I have seen similar effects in my space travels, as well.

It is the power of space after all. Space bonds everyone together, and considering that the amount of power that flows through space-- [Suddenly the conversation is interrupted by a large explosion of rainbows, enveloping both the captain and Gentarou, shaking the scroll a bit. Once everything settles, Captain Celestia is still standing there, but in Gen's place there is now a unicorn with a scruffy-looking mane and very earthly cutie mark. They then proceed to pick up the conversation as if nothing at all had happened.] --would probably result in the universe providing a huge amount of energy at any given time. People have harnessed such a power for various purposes over the years, and Switches are but one of the tools the Presenters have provided to humanity.

So it tends to be channeled through a variety of items, then, be it gems or Switches. Do you think it would be possible for somepony or someone to harness it without the use of such a focus?

The raw power of friendship has been a mystery for ages, but focuses offer a medium for channeling goodwill. To date, only Gentarou has managed to channel pure friendship without an avenue, and even then he is no Kengo. Even if Kengo has lost his ability to channel raw power without a medium. Switches, like other devices such as the Precure’s Miracle Lights allow for focusing one’s thoughts and wishes through them.

Perhaps this is something to ask Ponyville at large? There are still many here who are from different universes. It would not be surprising to hear of similar stories amongst other worlds.

A new research project, one that I have no inkling of… yes, yes how interesting! I would love to do this actually.

Good! I shall be glad to assist. It would seem that the easiest means to gather the data has been left here for us to utilize. [She motions to the scroll lying there.]

Oh excellent, I’ve been meaning to get one of those. [Philip trots over and picks it up.] Very well then, we shall commence with the research as soon as possible.

Ah, Twilight, good good. I would love to hear your side of the tale. It's not something I have read in the books yet.

Well...I was in a particularly rough spot at the time, especially since I was learning how to summon demons. My studies were going very well and I thought I should show my progress to my friends. They weren't as impressed as I hoped. Far from it. So I ran off into the Everfree Forest and stood at Zetta's castle for the month. I was still feeling down, but I was slowly getting better.

That's when it happened. Before I realized what was going on, Nightmare Moon possessed my body, forced Zetta out of his castle and declared war on Equestria. I could see and feel everything she saw and felt. It was...horrifying. Especially since she tapped into my magic to use against my friends...my friends who fought to save me and defeat her. Those fights were painful to watch. They were winning, but it wasn't until Rainbow Dash arrived that she told everyone the truth, that she had possessed me and killing her would've done the same to me.

After a difficult fight, Rainbow drew her spirit out of my body and her spirit left Rainbow's. I thought it was all my fault since I was summoning demons and was in such a negative mood...I thought I summoned her into me. That wasn't the case, however; apparently, the Pale Pony forced her into my body and there was no taking her out by myself. It was one of my lowest times, if not my lowest. On the plus side, the nightmares slowed to a stop months ago.

How interesting. So the Pale Pony can take advantage of people and ponies at any given time, all within the span of days even. This world is so much different than what is displayed in the Gaia Library, it must be a divergence.

It's definitely not something from the Equestria I remember. There haven't been any other cases of possession, but there are the statue ponies to consider...

Statue ponies, how thrilling! We will help investigate this further if you wish.

There's a lot to investigate, but I think everyone here would appreciate it.

From what I understand, the statue ponies include both those from the future the Pale Pony comes from and those who've disappeared from Equestria before. The Pale Pony may have them with her.

So there is possibly a holding place, some kind of area where the people are brought to when they leave. This bodes less well. What if the people who have been taken don't leave Equestria permanently?

Then we may be looking at Mayfield all over again...

(A conclusion Twilight isn't too happy with.)

...The ones who were created for Mayfield were never deleted; no one knows what happens to their data. All we know is that we could never leave the server.

It is possible that you maybe in a part of the simulation. HOWEVER, the knowledge to create a fully functional world with all the needs and benefits is a high one, possibly through a source of magic and/or technology. The likelihood that this world has penetrated your native land's boundaries is higher, if say you were lacking the resources to do so yourself. Outside forces are always stronger when first encountered.

It's possible...especially since the server's defenses were likely weakened, after no one was left to maintain it. I must've been one of the first this world chose, if that's the case...

And it would cause a breach, or an influx. Curious. Did your world have a version of Decade in it?

It all happened in October, when I was going through a particularly rough time. I was still adjusting to being in Equestria again and had too many doubts weighing me down. On top of that, I was learning to summon demons...which I was okay with. I was fine learning how to do that; the problem came when I tried to share that with everyone else. Understandably, they didn't approve. I panicked, so I ran off to Zetta's castle to stay there for a while. I was too ashamed to go back to Ponyville right away.

That's when it happened. On Nightmare Night, Nightmare Moon took over my body and went on her war against Equestria. I could see and feel everything she could...and she made me watch everything she did while she was in charge. She attacked my friends, used my magic against them...and all the while, I was convinced I brought this upon myself, that because I took up demon summoning and because I was so down at the time that I had practically invited her.

Everyone was winning the fight, but it continued until Rainbow Dash intervened, telling everyone that Nightmare Moon took over my body and that it wasn't just her. She fought Nightmare Moon by herself and drew her spirit out of my body. While I was recovering, I learned that the Pale Pony was the reason why Nightmare Moon found me and possessed me. It was a welcome relief, I must say. The nightmares went on for months and the whole ordeal left a few scars, but...I've since moved on from that, as hard as it was.

[Celestia listens quietly to the whole story. It was hard to sit through, knowing Twilight went through what she did, but she's visibly relieved to know that she was alright in the end.]

Normally, I would hint at what you should learn from the experience, but it would seem that you no longer require that. I am merely glad that you came through alright.

As for the demons... Such a practice is something I would not have followed, myself, but I know you are responsible enough to handle it.

The demons were from a friend who wanted me to learn more about them. He wanted me to learn that demons are just as variable as we are...and I did. Those lessons felt sincere, but I do understand the skepticism...especially since Lucifer was my teacher.

I see... That is a worthwhile lesson, and it may be extended to many others besides demons.

It does. Demons, robots, humans, gods, griffons, dragons, changelings...we have our differences and our differences. You must've met plenty of them during your travels, right?

More species than you could imagine. It gets to the point where you no longer have room for things like stereotypes and preconceptions.

It must be nice, being so free from judgment like that...that's a fairly common issue in the multiverse. All of those underestimations and over estimations take away from what really there, what really matters...and that's disheartening.

(Spoken from experience, right there.)

It is, but such judgements are extremely difficult for many to get away from. We will not be rid of them anytime soon.
