I know times have been hard and we've all been a lot recently. So, I decided to give everypony a surprise two weeks early.

The boutique in the Night Market is now offering a 40% off discount on all clothes, including costumes if you want to get yours done a month early for Nightmare Night.

I'm sure despite our troubles, Nightmare Night will go on as scheduled. Hope everypony is looking forward to the holiday.

[She clears her throat before continuing.]

So, how is everypony right now?

[She nods.]

I wasn't here last Nightmare Night and back home I was in Manehatten.

[Which if she knew what happened last year, she would be glad to not have been there.]

Ah... jolly good! [Jolly good, indeed. He doesn't wish last Nightmare Night on anypony.] Now, then, I've only seen a few pictures of Saddle Arabian chappies, but they do remind me of the fellows you might find in One Thousand and One Nights. Have you got that sort of book here in Equestria? Has all sorts of stories about Arabian chappies carrying on with fantastic adventures.

[As he's speaking, he's looking about the shop at Coco's fashions, trying to gauge her style.]

[Well her style is mainly very flowery and lots of lace. Of course, not as much lace on the stallions' clothes, but that's beside the point.]

I think I might have heard something similar to that, but it's been a while, but I should have a couple books on Saddle Arabian fashion around here somewhere.

[She moves her head away.]

Oh Clover, can you come here for a sec?

[And the moving doll from earlier goes to where Coco and Bertie are.]

Yes, Miss Coco?

Can you find and bring over a couple books on Saddle Arabian fashion for us?

Most certainly, Miss Coco.

[She makes a polite bow.]

Hello good sir. Please excuse me for a moment.

[Clover then leaves to get the books Coco needs.]

That was Clover, my assistant. She's quite helpful to have around.

[He's still eying the doll with some trepidation, but Bertie does nod his head politely to her when Clover is introduced.]

I can only imagine. Did you get her from Ms. Kreutzer? I saw the one that hands about Ms. Fluttershy and Ms. Fluttercruel now and again.

Yes, Kreutzer created her to help me around the boutique since it's my first time owning my own shop.

[Not too long after, Clover comes back with two books. You would think she wouldn't be able to lift them because they are huge, but she's not having any problems with it.]

[Coco accepts the books from her.]

How is Ms. Kreutzer doing after all that frightful business with the Pale Pony? [It's an off-hoof question more meant for polite conversation, but Bertie realizes that it might put Coco off entirely a little too late.]

[She can't help but frown at that.]

...She's fine.

[She opens one of the books to try to get away from that subject. She holds the open book in a way so Bertie can see.]

A-anyway, let's look through here to find something you like for your costume.

Right.

[Bertie's ears drop as he focuses on the book. Perhaps trying to make conversation with Coco isn't the best idea. He keeps shoving his hooves in his mouth at every turn.]

Rather a fine collection of choices.

[They page through the book with Bertie considering each of the options. Some of them that were on the stallion models looked more like they were for girls, really. He's reconsidering his choice of costume when they come to one that seems much more in line with what he'd been thinking.]

What about something like that, then?

[She looks at the choice Bertie picked and nods.]

Perfect choice. That will go nicely with your colors.

[Not to mention it's not one of the more complicated pieces so it shouldn't take as long to make.]

Really? Oh! Yes, I suppose purple is rather striking on the form. [Bertie can't help posing a bit for effect.] Will you need my measurements, then, or should we take care of that later?

If you're alright with it, we can take your measurements now. I will need it sooner or later.

[She's alright with whenever he chooses to wait or not. She mostly needed his measurements first since she already knows the design of the costume.]

Now seems a jolly good time if you'll have me. [He offers her another smile and follows along with her directions for any measurements she might need.]

Alright, follow me.

[She directs him to a stage for him to stand. Clover gets Coco some measuring tape and it doesn't take too long to get measurements but she does tell him that he would need to come a couple more times just to make sure the costume fits perfectly.

It was nice to work on something challenging like a Saddle Arabian costume, though unknown to her, there would be consequences in the future for agreeing to make this costume for him...]
