I'm back! And I bring ribbons for the San Bernadino Rodeo!

Two reds and a white. That's 2nd and 4th for all you uninformed. Golden won a blue and two pinks and that's 1st and 3rd.

I placed 2nd in bucking, 4th in roping and 2nd again in foot races.

So what'd I miss? Oh and I brought presents!

And Ruby! I got you a cute hat to go with your jacket! It's a Neighponese Windscale Exclusive I found at the Fillydelphia Geek Show. It's got a cute red and black pattern.

Races, bucking, all that good stuff yeah. It's pretty fun being the one ridden and trying to throw your fellow pony or whatever off your back.

Harvey, dear, don't get me wrong but you've practically worn that same suit for as long as I've known you. Wear something new. I got you a nice new tie too.

It ain't the same suit! They just...don't look all that different.

Well you need variant. There's this neighponese designer called Windscale and I think you'd love their clothing. It's very detective/zoot suit-ish.

Well, yeah. I mean, how are you going to have a rodeo? You can't just go out and start bucking wildly without a passenger. That negates the whole thing about rodeos.

Sure, that's how HUMAN rodeos go. How are you even supposed to hang on? You ain't got hands.

He's not quite realized that he's turned his scroll on to broadcast, he was trying to make at least some sense of what she'd said first.

If you don't mind me asking... What's a Rodeo? And what do colors have to do with it?

Ah I guess you wouldn't know...

A rodeo is a sporting competition, where ponies, bulls and other residents of Equestria go to. Your performance at events such as roping, hay bale tossing, bucking and other events are graded and awarded ribbons of specific colors depending on your performance.

Too bad I was unaware of it, it might have been interesting to watch. I think I understand what most of what you listed were, but what's roping?

[He doesn't know what bucking is either, but he assumes it's some sort of height kicking competition. Skyfire knows he's being a bit nosy, but he was curious.]

Roping is done in a ring, as one uses a lasso to capture the other and hogtie them. The faster this is done, the more points you score with the judges. It was originally a way to prevent bulls and mad or stampeding cows in line. Even now, cows stampede at the drop of a hat.

Of course this is all done by signing up for either side of the event.

Oh I brought mane ornaments! I couldn't find any ones from the Dragon Lands so I got you some Neighponese pieces.

Oh, you should not have--though I suppose this means I shall have to take my mane down. I keep it in this tail so often, I forget that I can do other things with it!

I am trying to think of the first fruits of spring, and perhaps some edible flowers, make a type of light beer. Something to drink and relax with on a bright, windy spring day, when your mane is being tickled and you just want to go and kick up your hooves!

I'm sure we can figure out a new style. It'd be fun to get a new manestyle after all.

Oh! Lyra, I didn't realize you were... [What's the right word for this?] So strong and talented in these active events! [Athlete was not much of a hobbit word and was one of those terms written and forgotten in books that few hobbits read.]

I'm more athletic than I look, but thanks! I did my best, and I did come in second in a couple of events. So I'm very happy about that.
