001: There's No Place Like...[TEXT]

[Twelve days had passed since his arrival in Ponyville. He had befriended(if you would call it befriending) a butterfly and Luna, both who had helped him go through the ins and outs of being a newcomer in Equestria. And ever since then, he had been cocky and arrogant, laughing at a few ponies' misfortune during the Poison Joke episode or being an overall jerk to others by demanding food to be cooked or attempting to rile those who had crossed his path. But today is different, very different. As of now, he's homesick and missing the way things used to be.

He wanted to go home and rule Dreamland, to boss his Waddle Dees around and have a few Gourmet Races with Kirby, but is it wise to want that? Before he made it here, he was captured by a huge spider who imprisoned him in a barrier and was taking him away to some unknown place. He doesn't want to deal with that. He doesn't want to experience the fear he had then, not knowing what was going to happen to him. Course he had been through worse and had came out of it with little trouble, but the fact that it's been happening constantly is getting to him. He haven't talked to anyone about it since those events occurred, not even to Bandanna Waddle Dee. He kept it all to himself. And now, sitting under an apple tree at Sweet Apple Acres staring at an apple in his hooves, he contemplates giving a small piece of himself to the public. But he isn't sure if that's a good idea, especially since he doesn't know anyone that well.

Taking a bite of the apple, he opens up the scroll and began to write. He isn't sure what came through his mind at the time, but he wrote it there anyway. Maybe he'll get an answer, maybe not. Regardless, he felt somewhat better asking a question like that. Not enough to eat all the apples on the apple tree, but enough to keep his hopes up or at the very least entertained. That's all anyone could ask for, right?]

So... you ponies who decided to make this your second home. Would you rather return to where you came from if you had the chance? Or would you live here to get away from it all?

And to be honest? It's a little frustrating at times to be stuck here. I sometimes feel useless.

[FINALLY! Someone who's speaking his language. Dedede couldn't help but smile at the response, because that's exactly how he feels(minus the being useless part). Wasting no time, he writes on the scroll to give the other pony a response]

You're not the only one who wants to go back home, but all I keep getting are ponies who want to stay here because of 'friendship' or some other nonsense.

[It's not complete nonsense, since it's still in his mind. Dedede is trying to understand the answers that was given to him that was different than what he would have for himself. Still, it's refreshing for a pony to share a similar thought, unless they too speak of friendship. Only time will tell.]

I get that. Some people like it here better, or don't want to lose the bonds they made here. But sometimes, you just have to go home. My home isn't good, but I have a way to fix it. I can't do it while here.

[Dedede understands that loud and clear. Although he's afraid to go home due to his kidnapping from the spider, he knows that being there is better so that he can somehow escape and keep his world safe and out of harm's way. But you can't do that while in Equestria. Why doesn't the other ponies understand that? Oh right... friendship]

I don't know who you are, but I think you're one of the sanest ponies yet. [And he means that, for better or for worse] I would leave here and take care of business home if I had the chance.

[And he will. There's no doubt about that.]

If you ever see a star shaped planet in the sky, that's my home. It's Popstar, ruled by yours truly. It's just like Equestria, but it's not full of ponies. It's a lot quieter too, if you're into that sort of thing.

I guess others are, since they like to take over it once in a while. But of course, KIRBY has to SAVE the day! Cursed pink lump...

[Oooo, does he hate that puffball! But if he was to see him right now, he'll hug the pink one to bits. A strange love/hate relationship those two have]

I'm just curious. Where on Pop Star does he live? What is he exactly?

[Even here, everyone wants to know about KIRBY, KIRBY, KIRBY, like he's the hero! Well, technically he is, but everyone should be talking about DEDEDE, since he's the one in Equestria and not Kirby.

Well, I'm the King of Dreamland! I have an army of Waddle Dees by my side to do my bidding! [If he was on visual, you would see him all puffed up] And I can eat more and fly better than Kirby ever could!

[And... that's it. There isn't much else to say about him other than that.]

I think I might want to know what Dreamland and Waddle Dees are.

Dreamland's a part of Popstar, that's all there is to it. As for Waddle Dees, they're orange with yellow faces, but they have no mouths. They work for me as servants to do this or that. They can't fight though, but they do their best.

[Even though he be mean to them, he really does love his Waddle Dees]

Forgot to mention that Dreamland has a Fountain call the Fountain of Dreams. The Star Rod is placed there so that all of us can have good dreams. Don't mess with it though or you'll give us nightmares... and then they'll start blaming you when you're trying to save their hide.

They have no mouths? How do they eat?

They blamed you? Why? You were trying to save them.

It's a mystery, but they are able to eat food without mouths. Don't ask why, because I don't know either.

[Oh boy.. Littlepip is starting to get a little too personal. She'll probably end up being judgmental too for what he had done years ago. But he's a changed and has been less of a nuisance since. Still, others aren't too willing to let go of the past, just like he isn't willing to let go of grudges]

Don't worry about it. It's over with now, so nothing can be done about it anyway.

If we see one, we should ask. I'm very curious about that.

[And Dedede continues to type up the many denizens of Dreamland, but only for a short while. There's too many to list and he's not in the mood to tell them all, so he stopped midway.]

Why are you asking so many questions? It's not like you're coming to Popstar with me once I find a way to come back home.

I'm just curious. I'm curious about a lot of things. It's why I always try to explore.

No, we don't have any books, not that I know of.

[He doesn't really know for sure, nor does he care. He's too busy ruling and bossing his Waddle Dees around to check and see if there's books in Dreamland]
