This forest seems to be a lot darker than I remember it. Perhaps there was a reason why the client was willing to pay so much.

[The scroll shows Captain Celestia wandering about the Everfree Forest. Indeed, the interior seems a lot more dark an sinister than it usually is, though those who have seen the forest since the mirror incident are probably aware of this already.]

Nonetheless, I shall be here for the next several hours to gather herbs and other useful materials. While I am here, shall anypony else require anything from the forest? As I am already being paid to be here, we may be able to work out a fine deal. I must make a living too, after all.

[Suddenly, a distant noise could be heard, which catches Celestia's attention for a moment. A pair of weapons are produced from somewhere off-screen in response.]

Leave a message, and I shall get back to you once I have added a pelt to my spoils.

[The feed cuts from there, but not before a shadow could be seen moving through the trees.]

This forest has become a dangerous place, far more than -ngh- usual. Both its flora and fauna have become corrupted, it seems. Not something that can be reasoned with.

Regardless, I believe this thing is a plant of some sort, not an animal.

Are you sure there's nothing we can do...?

M-more than one pony at a time could help, couldn't it? Besides, we've all faced manticores, hydra, dr- um... [ Gulp. ] Dragons...

I am capable of taking care of myself, and the time it would take for you all to find and get to me would only put me in more danger. The safest option is for me to end it now.

[There's a sickening sound of blade meeting flesh, followed by some ungodly cry. It's apparent that Celestia's not waiting for their answer.]

Princess, I'm very sorry about this, but please stay there!

[ And with no further preamble, Shy's zooming in the direction of the Everfree. ]

...W- we're coming, too...!

[And The Flutters are off as well.]

[Unfortunately, the forest is a big place, and with the mirror shards' influence, very dark and very dangerous. It will be something of a feat to find Celestia, even with how hard she stands out from it all.]

[It gives the captain ample time to deal with what was left of the monster; harvesting the useful bits and disposing of the rest, scattering the wooden remains of the wolf to give her time to get out of there before its friends find her and before it manages to regenerate.]

[That, and keep the inevitable horde of Fluttershies from finding her location. She keeps to the darker parts of the forest for now, unable to be seen from the sky. She'll face them later.]

[ After an hour of searching, Fluttershy returns to regroup with her double at the edge of the forest. She's sweaty, panting, and worried, dirt and branches clinging to her fur. ] Any.. any luck?

[This Fluttershy had a harder time searching since she kept on getting distracted by the draw to the Everfree. 'Shy shakes their head no.]

We're sorry, we couldn't find Celestia nor the poor creature...

Me either... [ Fluttershy's eyes brim with tears and she stares out at the forest. ]

The only... the only thing I can hope is that it was a timberwolf... they regenerate from almost anything. I couldn't tell... but if Celestia thought it was a plant, then it might have been...

[Fluttershy sighs.]

We hope it is... And that it's okay...

[The Flutters look back to the Everfree Forest, getting a slightly distant look in their eyes. Did they forget to mention that they're ghosts and ghosts get a pulling feeling toward The Everfree?]

[ Fluttershy feels a little strange herself so close to the Everfree, so soon after allowing Flutterbat to surface again. She looks with concern at her other self. ] ... Fluttershy? Are you... all right?

[The pull is there... It's so strong... The closer to Everfree, the stronger it is. But what's pulling them toward Everfree?

...Wait, was somebody talking to them? After a moment, Fluttershy looks to the other one.]

Hm?

[ Oh, Fluttershy recognizes that look. She wraps a wing around her double and tugs her gently away from the forest. ] Fluttershy? Come on, let's go back to the cottage. There's nothing else we can do here.

Oh.

[Fluttershy looks a little embarrassed.]

Let's, um, go back to Ponyville. It's just this pull towards The Everfree. It never really happened before we died.

It-- what?!

[ It occurs to Fluttershy that she doesn't really know anything at all about Shy and Cruel. ]

What happened?

[Fluttershy thought this Fluttershy already knew. Whatever, Fluttercruel takes over for this part and they begin walking over towards Ponyville.]

It happened months and months ago, even before we came to this Equestria. Like 6 or 7 months ago or something. We were just having a picnic with friends, then we got this really extreme headache, I took off flying, and... I think I crashed and broke my neck. That's how we ended up in The Reaper's Game.

Didn't know you didn't know.

I-- I didn't, no! [ But she remembers the Reapers coming up in their conversation with Discord. ] Oh my goodness -- but you're okay?

[Cruelly smirks and pats Fluttershy's back.]

We're as okay as we'll ever be. Besides, if anyone tried to make things worse for us, they'll be feeling the force of our hooves driving into their skulls really hard.

She knows she's a space pirate and all, but did you seriously had to commit murder in front of the other Fluttershys and who knows how many other ponies possibly getting traumatized by that?]

[It was audio-only, and she never did say what it was. She's going to stick to the story of it being a plant, though. Easier to digest that way.]

[Even still, she's disappointed in her either way.]

[It's either that or she dies or gets seriously injured.]

[At least don't do it in front of other ponies, even if audio-only and through the scrolls.]
