I am mostly wondering if I grew lucky, if my time spent "at home" was truly there.

I was not that fortunate before, sadly, so I doubt it would be the case this time either. Were there three Lunas within the Pale Pony - the one from Melissa's world, the younger version of ourself from before you arrived, and myself - certainly somepony would have pointed it out.
