I ask because I find it interesting that in light of others individuals doing and behaving in ways that are of interest to them the natural response appears to be retribution of some kind.

Friendship, then, appears to finding commonalities within differences. And lacking these common links appears to alienate and instigate feelings of resentment and hostility.
