[Not long after that little event with the Princesses, Patchouli opens the scroll to address everypony. She appears to be working on a spell in the middle of the road as she speaks.]

I am assuming you all saw what just transpired.

There is no time to lose. We need defenses set up and the general populace evacuated somewhere safe. We shall also need whatever information we can on what that thing is and the best way to combat it. Until then, stay out of the main thoroughfares on the north side of town, towards Canterlot. It will be a dangerous place, and not because of that creature.

[The spell finishes casting, and a large glyph appears on the road for a moment before fading away. It's still there, but hidden.]

Let us deal with this quickly; I'd rather not have to deal with two threats for long.

Against those types, constant attacks from multiple directions may prove useful. If we cannot overpower him, we must outsmart him. Hit and run tactics, and avoid casualties.

Exactly. I'm fairly certain debilitating effects won't be effective, but a consistent barrage and a few well placed traps should at least slow him down.

Civilians are going to be kept in Ponyville and we need to keep him out at all costs.

Still, we should be ready for an evacuation order. The thing may have a few unknown tricks.

I'm pretty sure he's the type to take hostages, too. If we can't keep him away from town, we'll need everyone away from here.

Provided other cities will take them in.

Fortify at the train station, then. That may be the fastest route out if things look grim, as well as the best way to communicate and arrange supplies.

Understood. We'll need to keep the train operational, then; we'll be in trouble if Tirek destroys it.

I will be at the train station in a short while to add glyphs to the trains. If nothing else, they won't go down without a fight.
