[Oh look, it's a little dumb dragon in a big dumb hardhat, a set of blueprints rolled up under his arm.]

So yeah I get that the last several weeks - hey, lets call it, the last month - has sucked pretty bad, but you know what doesn't suck really bad?

Video games~

See, since there's a lot of dumb, empty land around the place, we're taking some of that dumb empty land outside town and making it awesome by putting an arcade there. It should be up and running by this time next month, but hey since this place is lame and not like there's much else to do...

You can come and test some of the machines my boys and I made so far. You know. Get a chance to play a few games for free. I'm a pretty nice guy, so I think I can spare that for you, cause you'll be coming back when it opens in proper next month.

Though if you're gonna send a few bits my way, hey, I don't mind.

What's a Pocky? That some kind of weird bear thing from some weird bear language you and Teddie made up because I don't speak the dumb crap you two do.

Candy, Canterlot has it. [ Good job Pokey! You just agreed to a deal which requires importing candy daily. Or in bulk, regularly. ]

[ She lopes in a little while later, on all fours. Looks around and examines the selection. ] This all ya got?

For the moment, it is. My boys are working on a bit more as we speak.

[ She pulls a box of Pocky out of her hoodie (which is clearly labeled "POCKY") and starts chewing on one. ]

Remember how I told you I was going to need help dealing with the alien from my world?

That's what all this is.

What, no, this seems awesome. Yer just makin' vidya games.

[ She looks warily at him. ] Right?

He's planning to use them as a focus to breed hostility in others through competition. I've already started ways to sabotage it and a system shutdown if things go too bad. But I need more people on the inside.

[ She stares dumbfounded. ]

They're just vidya games! Ugh. Why's he haveta take all th'fun outta everythin'?

[ She looks at the arcade platforms more uneasily now. ] So what're ya gonna do?

Like I said, have a killswitch for it. Gonna have to let people come here but...I've thought up a few ideas to help minimize aggression, and hopefully pull others away from it. Crazy as it sounds too, just general good nature can thwart his influence too. If we can pull people aside and tell them that in there, we can have an easier time sabotaging this.

[Man. You don't like hearing the video games are going to be wonky? Then you're going to hate this.]

I told Teddie about this.

[ Just for a moment, a small part of her feels sick. ] G-good. Yer friends, an' I'd prob'ly tell him anyway, an' he has a right ta know.

[ But she still worries about him. ]

...Good. Glad we're agreed on that.

Cause his roaches are a part of the plan too.

I... [ She snorts in laughter. ] Okay. Awesome.

Man, yer really gonna trust me ta keep ponies from killin' each other over some dumb games? Ya know how competitive I am at this stuff, right?

Trust me, funny as it sounds, I have two reasons. The first is that you're pretty much one of my main options for this. Don't have too many other people I talk with aside from you and Teddie.

Secondly? Kind of hoping that competitiveness works for us. Now that you know the real competition, I'm hoping you'll be competitive enough not to fall into it's trap. It's saying you're going to lose and fall. I'm saying you won't.

Ya got it. [ Plus, if it's for a greater good, she's in, honestly. Skewing her instincts in this direction just makes it less hard. ]

Playin' th'ultimate game. An'... really, this bunch is enough on edge, I'd believe they could fall into it. We'll keep 'em from doin' that.

Yeah, that's....what I've heard. Seriously, the people back in Mayfield could work together better than this group here. You people are some serious paranoids, you know that? And I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm fine with a little paranoia.

But most the people here might as well be conspiracy theorists.

An' a buncha ponies no less.

I... think they've been burned too many times. Might be they're not usedta it... I don' think most of us intruders are th'happy friendly sorta type that really belongs here.

[Burned too many times, huh? A big part of him wants to just be obnoxious and wave that off. Hell, he'd seen so many others get burned again and again - and been burnt himself - in Mayfield that the argument just seemed to lack weight to him. But at the same time...that was just kind of him before he'd had his own adventure, wasn't it?]

Who knows? You'd be surprised at how you can find out if you belong sometimes.

[ She shrugs. ] Not too abnormal, though.

[He arcs his brows a little at that.]

[ She shrugs and looks around the room. ] Anyway, I'll help ya, but ya gotta have some kickass games. Only condition.

What, you think I'm some kind of punk? Listen, I know video games. I guarantee what I've got is going to be some quality product.
