Stitch Eight [Visual]
[It's a familiar apartment if anybody saw the video of an earth pony on guitar. But there's some commotion, hooves clicking against the floor somehow rather than the usual clop. But nobody's in view...]
A'right! I'm open for commissions! The Gala's comin' up real fast, but I can take on as many orders as I can and get 'em done, damn it!
[Then, a sigh.]
Just drop a scroll, got it? ...And for those who want a sample, here's somethin' I just kinda threw together.
[Samples? What's he mea-- oh. Oh that's definitely a stallion trotting into view of the 'camera', wearing an ornate white dress with lace and pearl, something that couldn't be 'thrown together' if anybody tried. He'd even styled his mane to match, and kicked a back leg to show the flow of the skirts. Well, at least he doesn't look embarrassed to be in the stuff. In fact, he looks awfully comfortable.]
Could be as simple or as fancy as ya want it, but you gotta be able to walk in the stuff, got it? I ain't takin' orders for 30-foot dress trains. You'll thank me later.
[Did he just do a little mane flip? He just did a little mane flip.]

[Visual/Private]
I'll seeya in a bit!
[Visual/Private] > [Action]
[Action]
C'mon in! I got 'em on dress forms side by side in the living room. I thought to make 'em match, but add personal flairs to each.
[Action]
[She stepped inside and headed towards the living room while Raidou bounded up to Kanji and barked, tail wagging.]
[Action]
Rrrgh, you're the cutest freakin' furball!
[But the forms were there, just as he'd said. They were pony-shaped and in mid-stride, bearing a pair of suits - one larger, one smaller - with a collared coat and button-up shirt. One had a deep purple tie, while the smaller had yellow. The personal effects were there, the smaller in sensibility and a snappy cut, while the larger bore studs for buttons and a baggier coat, presumably for draping over shoulders.]
[Action]
[She walked around them, eyes moving up and down, noting the style, how the yellow matched the suit she assumed was hers, but also how it matched the purple tie for Kanji's own outfit. Yes, she didn't expect any less attention to detail from the young tailor.]
Never mind the mares; we may make the stallions jealous in these.
[Action]
Really? Oops.
[He'd heard there was a contest on best mask... there was no telling if the outfits would help, but he wanted to test what would be his own little theory.]
Man, I shouldn't talk about an idea I had kickin' around for the masks. Y'know how the Shadows we took out had different faces depending on arcana, yeah?
The idea I had was... erm...
[He blushed.]
I-I was thinkin' somethin' like, takin' half an Emperor and half Fortune, and blendin' it together. B-but maybe that's a little lame.
[Action]
[If he wanted to explain his design plan further; she was listening right now.]
[Action]
[He crossed to the table and picked up a sheet of paper, holding it up. Two masks seemed cut in half and then clasped together to form half-and-half- masks. He tapped a hoof to an opening made in the Fortune halves.]
We gotta see, so when I make a cut here n' here, you can see outta both halves of the masks. So the 'mouth' of it becomes the part ya see.
'Course we could scrap it n' rework it. I got pencils ready!
[Action]
[She looks at it and wondered if maybe there was another way to do this. Cutting it like this, hm... something almost was crude.]
... What about combining them instead of putting half and half together?
[Action]
I don't follow- can ya sketch whatcha mean? I felt like somethin' was missing, so I hoped for your input since this is about both of us, y'know?
[Action]
[Naoto wasn't sure how to exactly... draw what she meant. Instead, she drew out both masks in full. The Emperor with its crown, and the Fortune with its bizarrely stacked swirled eyes curling to a smile.]
We take concepts from both and make them into one mask instead of split in half. Though, the best thought would be splitting the Emperor like the Fortune mask and making each half a different color... or...
[Action]
So somethin'... like this? But maybe-
[Then in the middle, he had designs starkly marking emperor and starting marking fortune blending just a bit in the middle. He lowered his head when he finished, a bit red in the face.]
I, uh... I-I dunno, I kinda like symbolism. I guess Shadows got me thinkin' about it more.
[Action]
[She stood nearby while Raidou went to watch Coconut and also sniff at the dress forms. It was already beginning to look more seamless.]
Has it?
[Action]
A little, I guess. It's all about shapes, but if ya stop and think about stuff, especially if it's tryin' to say stuff without sayin' it outright, it makes ya think more.
This place has made me think a lot more. ...Since... not thinking's what got me hit by Tirek.
So I need... I needta think more.
[Action]
[She frowned when he mentioned Tirek again. But that wasn't his fault for not thinking.]
Thinking at that moment in particular may have interfered with saving Yukiko-senpai.
[Action]
Yeah... I guess I just get tired of bein' called a meathead.
[He neglected to delve any further, instead focusing on finishing the drawing before he passed it along to her.]
[Action]
Who's calling you a meathead?
[What sort of insult was that? Taking the drawing, she looked it over and didn't say anything immediately, free hand coming to her chin.]
[Action]
A large enough amount that I know I need to figure some shit out.
[He lifted his head, ears low.]
I ain't gonna be some kind've genius. That ain't me. But what more can I do, Naoto? If you were me, what would you do?
...Ah...
[He shook his head again.]
Man, this whole self-improvement thing's hard.
[Action]
[Action]
[He pointed to the scroll.]
What I did earlier?
[Action]
[Action]
Yeah, I guess I'm more visual with it. Whadda they call 'em, right-brained?
[Action]
As for other... things, I'm not sure if I can offer any advise for that.
[Action]
Sorry, the topic took a weird turn. Let's... think of that Gala, right?
'Cause somethin' about it bugged me. Seemed like a lotta ponies were kinda jaded or even scared of the event.
