Entry 009 [Visual] Nightmare Night Costume? Plus Private to Bon Bon

Does anyone know where I could get a costume in my size? I'm afraid I have no idea of what I should even be... This holiday is completely unfamiliar to me.

This might be rather short notice, but do you think you could make a rather large order for me before the Nightmare Night party?
I was hoping to bring enough candies to share with everyone...

I'm gonna need some definitions.

In particular, "enough", "everyone", and "rather large".

[Skyfire thinks about it for a moment and then rattles off a list of numbers as he tries to figure out just how much he'll need. In the end, it would end up being a large order, just under about a third of what she'd use to stock her shop.]

Is that too big an order to do in the amount of time you have? I was thinking of an assortment, so you could even use some of the candies that you have in stock?

[He'd never heard of anyone getting a bad candy from her, so why not give her the chance to clear out some of the candies she had if she wanted? It might save her some time and let her clear out any seasonal stock that she had. He could easily eat any of the leftovers after the party himself. Heck, he could probably eat everything in her shop by himself, but he had better manners than to buy out everything and leave nothing for others.]

You realize that is going to cost you several thousand bits, right? Even with a bulk discount, we're looking at four digits...

[Skyfire looks a bit embarrassed as he reaches up under his wings and starts pulling out 'small' pouches from his 'saddle bags'... each one holing at least several hundred bits. When one was pretty self sufficient and ate mostly rock while selling off pottery and things... The money did tend to accumulate.]

I... don't think it'll be too much of a problem. [It was part of the reason he made the message private, he didn't like to show off and he stops after a few bags. He only took out enough to prove that he could pay.]

I do make furniture, pottery and sculptures, if you wanted anything in barter instead of bits... [Skyfire was willing to pay completely in bits if that was what she wanted, but figured that the offer should be there as an option anyways.]

Bartering isn't really my thing except in really limited cases, but... we'll see.

[He nods in understanding.]

It's fine if you don't. I just thought I'd put the offer out there just in case.

[Skyfire pulls out a little bundle of cloth and unwraps a painted, wooden carving of a small foal. He didn't have any pictures of Mani, but he'd made a pretty intricate carving of her... it almost looked like it would get up and start walking around in his palm.]

If you ever want to look at any of my work, feel free to ask. It would be a pleasure for me to make time to show you. [The little figure is put away with great care and then he shakes his head a little, trying to get himself back on track.]

Do you think you'll have enough time for the order? I don't want to overload either you or your staff if you're already busy. [He'd find something else to bring if he had to, because he didn't want to see anyone get as bad as he'd done to himself.]

Time? Time isn't the problem, and I can always hire more temporary staff.

I'll take a look some time at the handiwork. Hearth's Warming isn't too far away, and it's always good to prepare...

[He nods, but tilts his head a bit.] Hearth's Warming? [It's more of a question to himself, making a mental note to find out about that later. One thing at a time.]

I'd be happy to let you look any time you wish. If you'd like something custom done, I'll need a week's notice at the minimum to make sure it will be done in time.

[Back to the issue at hand though] Would you like me to bring the bits by now?

Payment on delivery is fine. I'll need that list of varieties in writing some time this week, though.

As far as Hearth's Warming... I've heard offworlders liken it to something called "Christmas", if that helps put it in perspective?

If you're sure? You don't want me to bring down enough to at least cover the supplies? [He did realize it was a big order after all.]

As for the varieties... I'll let you pick what you think is a good assortment? I've only tried a dozen or so types and I'm sure that others will like ones I don't... I can't see myself trying to make a list when you'd be better suited to picking the selection.
