"Hi! Since I'm almost finished making my statues, I thought I'd introduce myself! I'm Hayate, Guardian of the Night Bazaar! I look forward to acting as your guardian angel in the days to come."

"Okay, now that the pleasantries are out of the way, I'd like to ask - there was this changeling I met during the invasion and I was wondering how to find him? I managed to find some more dresses I think he'd look nice in, so I'm trying to track him down."

"She looked so natural in that maid outfit I couldn't tell she used to be a guy."

"It's really complicated, and I think only Jack can do it properly. Probably because he's the Abbot of Alltrades."

"You know, the Abbot. Jack of Alltrades, head...priesty-guy at the Abbey."

For an angel she doesn't know much about churches.

Hayate actually takes a moment to consider that.

"...no fair! If I'm an alien, then where's my blinky head lights? I HAVE BEEN CHEATED OUT OF BLINKY HEAD LIGHTS."

Blinky...what? I don't have any lights on my head either!

*Except for his eyes, and now horn, that can generate light sometimes. But that's a-typical and doesn't count.*

"Well yeah, I'm the alien here, not you."

You know "alien" just means anyone from a planet other than yours, right?

"Really? I thought it meant someone from Outer Space."

A slight pause.

"...it's too bad the Celestial Express only flies in the atmosphere; it'd be nice if I could visit the stars."

That's the same thing!

[hattrickery]

"Except Pavo can throw open the Doors Beyond and send me to other worlds that are exactly parallel to mine except I was never born there or something. But that doesn't make the people there aliens; it just makes me a visitor to another world. So Outer Space is where aliens come from."

Nodding sagely.

"Basic logic!"

"So...everyone is an alien? Or no one is? I'm not sure I get it."

Everyone not native to THIS VERSION of THIS world is an alien on it.
