Nonono, this- this simply isn't right!

[He stopped to rub his chin ~~and promise himself later he'd figure out how he did that~~.]

Alright, so let's see here. Try to reason it out Izzy, there's got to be a logical reason of why this happened, and how it happened.

[He starts pacing again.]

I suppose it could be a physical anomaly? Certainly there were... unusual circumstances going on mere seconds ago, unlike anything at all we'd ever seen! [Another brief pause.] Which is quite a lot if I do say so myself.

And this wouldn't be the first time I'd been pulled to another universe. [He looked around himself, his expression more troubled than you might think.] I do, however, seem to be utterly alone this time.

[A whuffle of a sigh and he stopped again, feet together and head pulled back, eyes closed.]

Alright, deep breath. [He does just that.] All this requires is careful observation and study, and answers will become clearer over time.

[Somehow he seems brighter already.]

Welcome to Equestria. It's mostly populated by ponies but there are plenty of other creatures here too like dragons and changelings. There's also smaller animals too.

*The voice seems to come from nowhere, before an empty white equine mask descends from the sky and what appears to be a red alicorn with a black mane appears in a flash to fill it.*

Yes, that's true. But, for every question there's an answer, somewhere! It just needs to be discovered by vigorous, dedicated research.

Unfortunately, answers have been slow in coming to light, so you may wish to make yourself at home while you join in the investigation efforts.

Hmm. I suppose "world-hopping" would be an accurate term for it, yes. That's an experience I've had before, although the last time it occurred I continued to be human. Albeit one in a digital form.

Equestria certainly sounds intriguing. [He looks around, as if to verify what he's being told.] Similar to Earth but with ponies as the dominant species rather than humans.

[Pony? Nope, just a huge white and red dragon curiously watching the unicorn pace back and forth. Skyfire hesitates, but approaches slowly. Rather intrigued by his verbal attempt at coming up with a hypothesis.]

Did you just arrive here?

[He really hopes that he's not going to scare the unicorn off... So far his luck at making friends wasn't quite the best.]

[He's startled by it and pulls up a bit, one foreleg lifting with a blink.]

Ah, well. [A throat clearing and then his senses return after that interesting display.] What I was properly referring to was, the last time I was pulled into another realm I was at least accompanied by my friends, and also acquired a partner soon after my arrival.

None of which seem to be here. [So far, anyway.]

*There is a bat winged pony who seemingly has glowing eyes behind a red visor on your scroll, Izzy. At least, it seems red. It might be a bit hard to tell, given that the only light in what seems to be a room made of dark clouds is orbs of purple lightning floating lazily about.*

Digital, huh? That kind of sounds familiar.

Pretty much, though the weather is actually controlled most of the time. In fact we recently just cleaned up winter. The only exception is the Everfree Forest.

[He seems disconcerted for all of five seconds, long enough to blow out a soft exhale.]

That's alright. A seemingly impossible puzzle is nothing but an enticing challenge.

So, you speak as if there has been preexisting research conducted?

[On the contrary, Izzy seems rather happy to see the dragon.]

Ahh yes, I did! I'm afraid I'm still in the process of getting my feet wet. Or I suppose, my hooves. [A brief paw at the ground, with an amused smile.]

[Whatever his first impression of the pony's appearance (honestly, knee-jerk response was Myotismon, but all things considered that wasn't surprising), there was some interesting information in there.]

*She waves a hoof over her mask and it's suddenly different.*

Well, you can hardly expect things to go the same way every time.

Familiar? How so?

[A thoughtful sound, after a moment.] I can't say as I've ever heard of a location with such strictly controlled weather, outside of an atrium or other enclosed structure. Though I'm interested to know what makes this, "Everfree Forest", different?

[Pinkie erupts out of a tree!]

*Paying close attention when he speaks would let Izzy note that he does have a pair of small fangs, but more of the carnivorous type than blood sucking.*

True, but based on prior experience I had nothing else to expect. I have seen transformation in others but never in myself and had, to this point, thought it impossible. This is an entirely new situation to me.

I think I might have read something about a digital world a long time ago, but I might be mistaken.

Aside from having normal weather, it contains a lot of dangerous creatures in there so it's not a good idea to go in there unless you need to. And even then, don't go in there alone.

That is quite disconcerting. So, if he's responsible for the destruction of another Equestria, what would be his interest in this one? [This isn't asked glibly, it sounds as if he's genuinely curious, and speaking his assorted thoughts out loud.]

More of the same? Or perhaps looking to gain something from here that he didn't in earlier, elsewhere attempts?

[Beat.]

Well, that was abrupt.

[He takes the brownie, after another moment.] Thank you for your hospitality. [There's a sincere smile with that at least.]

*He thinks he's going to like you. Which is unusual, given his usual luck when it comes to dealing with kids.*

I've been working on researching the local lore and there have at least been attempts made to make sense of the strange occurrences here. At the moment, it seems as if we were brought here by an intelligent force that's observing us and may potentially be influencing the political atmosphere of this world.

Ahh; in the world of fiction, perhaps? It's something of a common science fiction concept.

Hmm I see, thank you for the warning, I'll keep it in mind. Though if you don't mind me asking, in a world populated by sentient ponies, dragons, and changelings- which I wonder if they're similar to their mythological counterpart -what counts as "dangerous creatures"?

Oh, but impossible is such a limiting word...

*She's suddenly engulfed in ruby flames and, when they clear, she's standing there as a dragon with her hand on her chest.*

Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!
