And here I was afraid that this world was somehow a dry one. I would call finally finding this bar luck, out of lack of any better word to describe it. It doesn't have much in the way of selection, but I imagine I'll make do.

It seems the Gala has left us with quite a bit to think about, hasn't it? It would seem that someone isn't happy that we're here, despite the fact we never asked to be here. Then again, perhaps their message was just another part of whatever plan brought us here. Whoever they are and whatever the point of the message, I suppose I need to applaud them for being interesting.

There'll come plenty of time to discuss the times to come; more time than some of you want, less than some will need. There's nothing wrong with thorough pre-planning, of course, but all work and no play does tend to make us dull, doesn't it. That's why I'd like to propose a friendly game this next Saturday.

I'm curious. Is anyone here familiar with poker?

I'm typically more for roulette and dice when there's a chance for it, but I wouldn't say no to a round or two. That sounds like jolly good fun, in fact!

Oh, rather, my good Star. You wouldn't happen to have any relation to Ms. Flare Star, would you? She's from another sort of Equestria... one that seems like it would be the place to have poker.

I'm afraid I don't have a great deal of money at the moment to be able to play properly with. Deepest a.s, of course. I'll see if I can round up a more sizable stack of bits for this Saturday.

What version of the game did you have in mind? I'm familiar with that American whatsit. 'Texas Hold Them,' I believe.

No, I'm afraid not. I've made her acquaintance, but that's all I know of her.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's a friendly game; I'm much more interested in the company then the money. I'd assume a simple twenty bit buy-in would do nicely.

Texas Hold 'Em is a favorite of mine, but if others are more inclined to the traditional version I wouldn't complain.

I think I can manage that, then! I do love rubbing elbow with all sorts of chums, and what better way than over a proper game like poker? The last time the chaps at my club went a round, we had a rousing good time! Will there be libation to speak of for the event? I can see if I can barter for a barrel of cider from Ms. Applejack if there's a need.

I suppose you could say I'm from here and there. There's no place I would truly call home, though there's certainly enough I've settled in for a while.

I was thinking of the bar, personally. It'd be a friendly enough setting and no one would have to feel like they were, perhaps, boxed in in someone's home. A neutral place so we can all get to know one another.

[Bertie would put an impatient ferret to shame with his distractability.]

Poker! A fine game that I haven't had a chance to partake in... not in quite some time! What are the stakes, friend?

That's a shame. There does seem to be a bit of a lack of entertainment here - or at least entertainment that I'm used to. Although the Gala was an interesting diversion.
