Scroll 6: The Cake is NOT a Lie [visual or action forward-date day after GGG]

[The scroll shows the commune kitchen, at least what looks like it since there's piles of cookies and a cake or two partially blocking the view. Saori pops her head in and wipes the sweat off her brow. And yes, she's got some flour on her cheek too.]

So....I might have gone a little overboard with my baking therapy. I got tons of cookies, cakes and some other baked goods here up for grabs. I think I still have enough ingredients to do some requests but you might want to check here first. Oh and I thought of these!

[She pulls up several cookie shots. Then the oven pings.]

What do you think? You can have your cookies and milk at the same time! So yeah, come on down to the commune's kitchen. Now if you excuse me, I got some chocolate lava cakes to get out of the oven.

Shortly after the scroll post, Mako trots into the kitchen looking somewhat pensive.

"...um...do you have any brownies?"

Saori smiles and nods.

"Actually, yes, I do. It's just a matter of finding them. One second, please."

Give her a minute as she lifts plates of baked goods out of the way. A minute later, she finds and brings it up front.

"Hah! I knew I still had them."

Mako nods.

"Thank you."

With that, she sits down and slowly starts eating a brownie, chewing thoughtfully as she stares off into the middle distance at nothing in particular.

"...um, have you noticed anything weird happening?"

[needsteaplz]

"Weird? Hm..." She has to stop for a second to think. "Well, now that you mention it, I have. Like I could've sworn some of us have changed. And not in a good way. More like the sudden bad ones. I could've sworn some cutie marks were changed too."

Thankfully, hers has not changed. All that baking was just a in-the-moment kind of phase.

Mako lets out a great sigh of relief.

"Oh thank goodness, I'm not going crazy."

[needsteaplz]

"We should be lucky it's not affecting everyone or else there would be no end to it. Though I have to wonder what triggered it," she sighs. Cutie Marks after all can't just change overnight...unless there was some strong magic shenanigans about.

"...probably something at the Gala. There was a big commotion at one point, but I missed a lot of the details."

[needsteaplz]

"Same here. I didn't stay for the entire time," Saori starts pacing around as she tries to think.

"Looks like an investigation is an order. Good. I could use a break from baking, to be honest."

[etranger]

Mako considers that as she finishes the brownie.

"...If you're going to be doing the Ace Detective routine, I'm fine with being the muscle."

[needsteaplz]

Saori can't help but laugh a bit.

"I can work both ways but I could always use an extra hand, er, hoof."

[etranger]

"Okay! I'll just take one of these for the road and I'm set."

She indicates the cookie shots as she says this.

[needsteaplz]

"Sure thing. I'm sure everyone else will eventually eat through all of this. Oh, I better get these washed before we start too."

Now that the last of the dishes and pans are cool enough, she gets them washed and she's ready as well.

Mako finishes off her cookie shot and considers the watch on her pastern. With a shake of her head, she dismisses whatever idea she was considering and reaches up to tug the brim of her cap a little lower over her eyes.

"Okay, all set!"
