[Tails can be seen sitting under a tree and next to him are several books stacked on top of each other. Looks like somepony been going the library.] Does anyp- body have any ideas about who could have vandalized that statue back at the Gala? I've been trying to do some research, but I'm not coming up with much.

[He moves one of the books with a hoof to straighten them out.]

I've also asked some of the locals around to get their opinions about us. So far I have yet to find somep- one angry about us enough that they would want to leave a threat like that. Of course, I'm kinda surprised nop-

[He smack himself with a hoof.] Darn it. Gotta stop doing that.

[He clears his throat before continuing.] Anyway I'm surprised we aren't being blamed for that. You would think us outsiders would be considered suspicious. I wouldn't exactly blame them if they did.

Also, does anyone have some good suggestions for a job? I've been looking in various places, but I would like some opinions on that.

Well my talent is working with most machines, especially airplanes. Unfortunately the only machines that exist in this world are trains and I've never worked with trains before. [He's been feeling rather useless so he's been focusing on studying to make himself less so.]

D'ya ever work yer own metal? I'm a miner, see, so I'm tryin' to get a business going with gems and jewelry and armor-making. Not sure if any of that is up your alley, but I could always use the help.

I've made fake emeralds before, but I've never worked with metal ores or make jewelry.

You can make fake gems!! Man. That'd be a useful skill, back home. But gems aren't any sort of rarity around here... hm. Well, I don't know if I have any use for ya, but if I think of anything...! I'll let you know.

Give it time man. I'm sure there'll be plenty who'll blame us if anything else like this happens later on. And it will if whoever did it was crazy enough to do that to a statue of the Princess.

Maybe it even is one of us. Not like we know most of the others here.

As for other skills I can cook and clean well enough to get by. That's about it.

It's not hard or anything. Seriously, it's almost like they want to get robbed.

I dunno. I don't usually go steal things, especially if it were from royalty. Besides, I would feel bad if I did and didn't get caught.

Then I guess you could go about getting a job the "normal" way.

I've been trying to look into what that symbol on the statue meant too, but I haven't found a match yet. It kinda looked like one of those symbols they use for planets.

It looked a little like the Pluto symbol, but it doesn't make any sense. Pluto's astronomical sign is based on the initials of its Earth discoverer. Percival Lowell. ♇.

Yeah it had a star at the end for some reason. If they were trying to make a magic circle it didn't quite work.

Or maybe it did work because its purpose was to scare people.

I was thinking more the lines of summoning something, but maybe you're right. After all, there was that word "prepare" on the statue. What exactly would they want us to "prepare" for? An invasion?

They might not have blamed all of us yet, but everyone there was quick to eye Zetta. Personally, I doubt it was him.

All anyone knows is it was done by someone who knows we're here. And by we, I mean us outsiders.

I don't think it was him either. He seemed pretty angry after he got interrupted and it didn't look staged.

It would be hard not to notice a small town like this suddenly having so many ponies show up.

Ponyville is known for playing home to all kinds of shenanigans, but...it hasn't been through anything like this. Not really. Even so, you're right about that; plenty have noticed by now, for better or for worse.

So this town usually attracts trouble? Somehow I can believe it.

Yeah, it's...pretty normal. Almost startlingly normal. Hopefully, it won't be too long before you get used to it.

Considering that I'm used to dealing with weird stuff, it certainly won't take long at all.

Then I'll hope that it doesn't.

In the meantime, finding a job for you shouldn't be too difficult. What do you enjoy doing?

I like to build and fly airplanes, as well as built various machines. None of them involve trains though unfortunately. Most of my talents are kinda useless here, which is why I'm having slight trouble with finding a job.

I wouldn't say they're useless; maybe misplaced, but not useless. Everything has a use, even if it looks the exact opposite; the trick is figuring out where it's best applied.

Experience with planes and flight means you're familiar with aerodynamics, right? I bet there's plenty of pegasi who'd really appreciate a few pointers in that regard.

[He nods.] I suppose so. I did help someone with walking once when I first arrived here, so I could help someone fly too.

Great! I think you'd be able to help new and old pegasi with their flying, particularly the newer ones since you went through exactly what they did.

That is...assuming you're already accustomed to flying with wings, of course.

Yeah I'm used to it by now. I've had a lot of practice so it's not a problem. Being able to walk on clouds is pretty neat too.

I've been thinking about the gala too. Still no idea who messed up the statue but I'm more worried about something else... I was near the food table when it went dark and I heard hissing noises over there.

Hissing noises? I don't remember hearing any hissing.

Where were you when the lights when out? Maybe the hissing only happened near the food table...

I was only by the statue. That would make sense, though there's the question of what caused that hissing? As far as I know, there aren't any snakes in Canterlot.

I checked for snakes once the lights were on again. There was nothing. No sign of something else that would make a hissing noise either. Weird huh?

That is weird. It's possible that if it's multiple culprits, one of them passed by you without you noticing.
