2nd Claw Visual/Action
[The feed cuts in and he's moving through the Everfree, breaking past some ferns onto an overlook to the river where the sun is setting. It's bright, just on the edge of the ever free a little ways from Flutter's cottage.
In the feed there is a tree. A large tree. One that has thick branches that hang over the side of the hill over the water. It's root system seemed to go deep, and even if it leaned a little bit out towards the sun, it still seemed stable. He tosses the scroll onto the ground and looks into it.]
I think I want that tree to be my home, ponies. But I don't really know where to start. It'd be nice to have stuff but I don't have any money yet. I didn't go to the bank yet, and I don't know how much it would cost to build something on that.
So I guess I'm just going to offer my services to pay off the work. Work for work. Is that okay?
Is there anyone who can actually help me with this or am I barking up the wrong tree all together?
Action
[He returns to ponyville as the sun sets, padding on around town coming from the ever free. Where's he heading? The infirmary. The problem? Seems he's got a bit of a louse problem from spending all his time outside. He had a few ticks on him, and the fleas were getting to him. He needed a little help now, and the only way he could think to do was to go the doctor.
But where was the doctor? After a while of walking, he realized that he didn't know where anything was. Help? Somepony?]

Every little bugger in the Everfree wants to eat me alive, that's what!

It sounds like you could use a parasite bath... [He paused and made a quick mental check of what he had at home. Just because he was parasite resistant didn't mean that others were, and he gestures for the lion to follow him.]
Come on... I can at least help you with that. I have a tub that I use to clean up with after working with clay... It'll be easy enough to heat some water and get you a nice herbal soak to get rid of the bugs and the itching.
[While he'd put in a tub for Mani inside the cave... he wasn't about to risk infesting the whole place either.]
no subject
Do they have... Do they have that stuff that prevents them from getting on in the first place?
no subject
I have some oils that should help keep them off. Once we've gotten those bugs off you and dried out, I can put them on you. It won't stop all of them... but it should prevent most of them from coming back.
[Skyfire would slowly start walking back towards his cave, and the kilns outside. It would be up to the other if he wanted to follow and accept the help.]
My name is Skyfire... May I ask yours?
no subject
It's Shadow.
no subject
It's nice to meet you... I'm just sorry it has to be because you need to get a bath...
[It's a fairly decent trip to Skyfire's cave, but it won't take all that long and soon Skyfire was pouring some cold water from a large pot into a fired clay tub. He then used his fire breath to heat the rest of the water in the metal pot.]
Alright... that's the water mostly ready... I'll go get the herbs and be right back. [He'd leave Shadow to poke around at the clay work and everything else he had out, if he wished, and would return a short time later with a pair of small jars.]
no subject
Once they were inside the cave, he was curious of all the clay works, sniffing around while the dragon started the bath. It was only a matter of waiting now. Waiting with trepidation and that whole feeling of "Oh god why do I have to take a bath?"
And then there were all the cool things to look at.]
Did you make all these things?
no subject
[Skyfire dumps the contents of one of the jars into the very hot water in the pot and reaches in to stir it with a paw. The small cave that he uses to clean up in starts to take on a somewhat pleasant smell, if a little strong.]
I'll admit, most of them are nothing fancy... I still break more than I manage to bake properly.
[He pours a good amount of the hot water into the tub with the cold water, causing some steam and stirring it a bit with a paw. The water would be quite warm, and the herbal liquid in it would take the itch out of most of the bites...]
Stick a paw in and make sure the water isn't too warm for you? [That other jar? It's essentially filled with the herbal equivalent of flea and tick shampoo... Skyfire was planning on giving Shadow a full bath... not just chasing off the worst of the bugs with a soak...]
no subject
He watches Skyfire, occasionally itching his back against a rock as he waited. Once Sky made the invitation, he pads over and sniffs the bath, before dipping a paw in. It was hot, but he could handle it. He slowly dipped inside, almost instantly feeling a difference.]
no subject
The soak should help relieve the itching... Feeling any better?
[He opens up the other bottle and grabs a fired pot to mix some of the powder in it with hot water, then adding cold to cool it down.]
Ready for a good scrub to get rid of all those pests?
no subject
Much. Yeah. Way better.
[He then turns his head at the suggestion of getting a scrub. This was a real bath? He was going to get a bath from a giant dragon? He lowers himself into the water.]
no subject
Hopefully by the time we're done you won't have to worry about getting infested again for a long time...
[It was a real bath, but Skyfire would take it slow. Giving Shadow plenty of time to protest if it was something that he didn't want done.]
The shampoo will get rid of the insects and any eggs they've left behind, then once we get you rinsed and dry, I'll put the oils on you to help keep them from coming back.
[As long as Shadow doesn't protest it, Skyfire will take some of that warm, soapy water and start pouring some onto his back. He'll then gently work it into a lather, giving Shadow a nice back rub at the same time.]
no subject
no subject
Before I rinse you off... is there anywhere that still itches?
[If there were still itchy spots, that would mean he'd missed a spot... and he wanted to make sure Shadow was parasite free.]
no subject
[He flips over to show his belly near his leg and side where three more ticks still clung to him. Those were the last that he knew of!]
no subject
There. That should be all of them... Lets get you rinsed off so that we can start getting you dried out.
[He pulls out the wooden plug in the base of the tub and starts to rinse Shadow off with water from the tub to clear off the worst of the suds, and then switches to warm water from a jug to wash away anything else left in his fur.]
no subject
He gives another shake and climbs out of the tub.]
T-thanks. I don't really know what I was gonna do. You know? Those things all over me were driving my crazy.
So much better now.
no subject
[Skyfire grabs a towel off of a shelf and moves to help Shadow get as much water out of his coat as possible.]
Once we get most of this water out of your fur... It'll take some time for you to dry enough to apply the oils...
Would you like to come into the main cave for awhile and dry by the fireplace? It's a bit cool out today for you to be running around with wet fur...
no subject
He shakes off again, his hair starting to get a little bit more volume rather than laying flat on his body, making him look a bit less like a giant weasel.]
I don't really know what I can do in return. But I think I should do something.
no subject
Don't worry about it... but if you really want to do something... Give someone else some help when you can.
[With Shadow as dry as he was going to get with towels, Skyfire would lead him around to the entrance to his 'home' cave and lead the way inside. It's well lit, and while most of the floor is still packed dirt, a good portion of it has been 'paved' with stones.
A good section near the fireplace also looks to be set up as a little girls room... complete with a bed and shelves.]
Let me get you something to lay on...
[Skyfire pulls down a couple of cushions and a blanket from high shelves that are quite hidden to anyone of pony size, from the sheer height and angle. He lays them out for Shadow in front of the massive stone fireplace, which is putting out just the right amount of heat to warm the cave without being too hot.]
Will that work? I can get another couple of cushions down if it's still too hard...
no subject
He follows Sky over, which is really just following his shift in weight since Sky is far bigger than he is, and in respect to the space he in habits, Sky really isn't moving as far as Shadow has to.
The small lion looks up, watching as a cushion was brought down to him. He almost feels bad taking advantage of all of this kindness, as it came to a surprise to him. Most of these ponies and animals were so damned kind, so unlike the people he knew growing up.
Still, paying it forward would be just as well.
He lays down on the cushion, then looks up at Skyfire.]
Were you always a dragon?
no subject
I wasn't... but then again, I also had a dragon shape far before I arrived here.
[He gives Shadow a lopsided grin.]
It was quite a shock to go from looking like a dragon, to really being one.
no subject
A dragon form? What were you then?
no subject
If I say that I was a sentient, sapient, mechanical based life form... Does that make any sense to you?
[Skyfire could have gone for the really simple answer, but that can backfire... He'll be more than happy to give a simpler answer if asked.]
no subject
So you're a robot android kinda guy? [You would be surprised what kind of things he accepts, Sky. This place is considerably more bizarre than his home.]
no subject
Also older than human life on the Earth I was on... [He shrugs] I've learned to assume others might not even have words for what I am...
no subject
And that's cool.
Are you as big as you are now back home?
no subject
Pretty much... Actually... I think perhaps I might be a little smaller here. Granted, I have nothing to really compare against... I do know that I am somewhat lighter.
no subject
[He scrunches his nose to that. This dragon was already huge, but something even bigger would be like the giant monsters of Paragon, or the beast that slept beneath the sea.]
no subject
Essentially... I was a scientist and an explorer. I was quite large even compared to my own people, though that worked to my advantage in my chosen profession. I was large enough to carry equipment and supplies for long journeys without putting a strain on myself.
[He pauses and considers something a moment.]
Actually, I was even larger before I took on my dragon shape... I did lose a lot of mass during the repairs and reconfiguration into that form.
no subject
[He pauses, sort of trying to picture the size in his head.]
So way bigger than you are now even. And an explorer.
[You've just managed to draw his wonder back to that idea. He always wanted to go on grand adventures, what with watching reruns of 40 year old space adventure shows with his grandpa.]
What did you look like before you were a dragon?
no subject
[He sighs and looks both amused and a touch disgusted at the same time.] If there were a way to make me smaller at this point, I would welcome it. It's rather annoying being bigger than nearly everyone.
As for what I looked like...
[Skyfire used the tip of a claw to start and sketch a rough approximation of his bipedal mode's appearance in the dirt. It's nothing overly fancy, but it's a pretty good approximation all the same.]
I hope this doesn't come off as too meta.
He looks down at his claw drawing. It looked to him sort of like the Nemesis robots, or the Clockwork ones.]
I'd buy the toy of that, if it existed.
It's fine. It's actually given me an idea... XD
Perhaps, but I don't know of any that would do such.
[He tilts his head as he looks at his sketch and then nods]
Huh. Never thought of it before, but you're right. My old form might make a decent toy, or at least a model. Maybe I should try and make one... It would be easier to show others what I looked like before.
