Alright, this place takes people too.
Klaus s33ms to be gone as well as others, so I can only hope it brought them home, as Mayfield would have.

It's incredibly different from Mayfield. The concept of leaving may be the same, but the execution is extremely different.

For one thing, there aren't any drones in Equestria.

No no, that's perfectly fine. That's easier to take in than the other rumors of droning.

...Were you around for the end, by any chance?

There was an end. It was...bittersweet.

Ultimately, Mayfield finally collapsed in on itself and we were able to find another town to make for ourselves. No Zekemis, no drones...just us. As for going back home...we couldn't. Zemekis and Annie, the librarian, confirmed that Mayfield was, in fact, a virtual simulation and all of us brought in are digital clones of our real counterparts. Because of that, we could never go home and we would only live as long as the computer we were in still had power. At best, it would've lasted five years. Despite that, we tried to live out our lives as happily as we could. It wasn't home, but it was freedom. It was the least we could get.

They were real to us. Everything we went through in that town was real to us: the tortures, the dronings...but most importantly, the friendships. Us Mayfielders are and always will be real to each other.

If nothing else, take comfort in the fact that you're not alone.
