[ She rubs her eyes. ] Okay, I know saying “watch for something unusual” doesn’t really… work, around here. Look, it’s just that there’s a witch in the area, okay? We think its headquarters is the chair shop in the Night Market but we haven’t ever seen her.

And there’s only so much patrolling I can do at night, so… if yer on the Night Market, especially.

Keep yer soul gems handy. C’mon, why haven’t we found her yet?

Call it what ya want. I'm a magical girl and there's ponies here who call themselves that an' definitely aren't what I am.

To be fair, that does sound like a rather broad term.

Well, yeah, I guess here there's plenty o' female unicorns who have magic. But there's girls who've gained particular sets of powers, ya know? The Precures and the Sailors. An' those're from back home, they didn't all get 'em here. So... I guess that's how I'd define it.

But there's not... I dunno if there's a catch ta these other powersets. I certainly don't know 'em. So that's different.

From what I recall from the Precure I knew, the powers come with an obligation to play the role of the hero against whatever myriad threats come to bother that world.

[ She snorts. ] Some catch. Nah, tha's more like... I dunno, a charge. We got instructions an' if we don't follow 'em, we die or worse.

How is the enforcement carried out, if I may ask? Magically, or by an external party?

[ Kyouko hesitates. ] Used ta think it was just magic. [ She thrusts out her soul gem. ] We haveta take care of this. But I think the system may have been stacked against us from the beginning.

[ She shrugs. ] Doesn't matter now. Our fault for gettin' into it.

'Your fault'? From the way you phrase it, it sounds as if you have entered a devil's contract.

We wished for somethin' and we got it, along with power. So yeah, tha's exactly what it is.
