[There's a shot of a confused and slightly unhappy looking blue pony looking around before she reaches up to poke the scroll with one of her hooves.]

Ok. This is definitely not a normal place to wake up in, or thing to wake up as. [She's now staring at that hoof like it's some sort of alien creature.] Would someone be so kind as to fill me in on where I am, and what is going on here?

[She tries to close the scroll and stop it from whatever magic it's doing, but she fails, and the last thing you see is her tripping over her own legs and rolling down a small hill. There's a loud sigh.] And maybe some walking lessons.

...It or variants of it have been what natives - or near-natives - have had to give for the past two months or so now.

We're talking "flying ponies manage the weather and the Princesses raise and lower the sun and moon". [Yes, there was more to it than that, but that seemed to be the hardest pill for newponies to swallow.]

Ah...You will have to forgive me for not believing that one until I see it. Home is not like that at all. [She's caught glancing backwards for a moment.] Any explanation for the tattoo? [Yes, she's talking about the cutie mark.]

The mark on your flank? Nn. It's a pony thing, don't worry about it too much.

Think of it like an easy ID badge; it shows the world that you've discovered your true talent, the thing you're better at than anything else.

[If ponies can raise eyebrows she does it. Then looks back behind her, studying the mark.]

I cannot tell if that makes sense, or none at all.

Better get used to that. Even when things don't make sense, they consistently don't make sense.

Wonderful. [She sighs.] At least they seem to be consistent.

Discord? Is that somebody's name? [Oh, English, the nemesis of the ninja.]

Name's Flare Star, I'm workin' pro-bono at keepin' unpleasant critters in the forest where they belong, as well as helpin' set up a local defense force for the newponies here. And you are?

Once you can learn to move about on your own, look to putting your talents to good use. Work around here doesn't exactly last long unless you're doing what you're good at, unless you're as stubborn as a mule.

As far as gettin' back home and on two legs... trust Princess Celestia. There's no reason for her to be responsible for this mess, and she's doin' everything possible to find a way to undo it all.

That may be...a problem. What I am good at normally involves hands. And weapons that I do not seem to have in this place. [You know, guns, knives, hunting the bad 'guys' down.]

Ok, another probably dumb question. Princess Celestia is...?

Soldier, huh? Well, ponies can make weapons of their own just fine, so hopefully you'll find your niche again before too long. Me and several others are actually looking at setting up a Ponyville Defense Force, if you figure you're interested, later.

Princess Celestia is the mare in charge. Raises the sun every morning, rules over the land in peace and harmony, you know, that sort of thing.

I may be. You will have to let me know if you need assistance with that. It would at least give me something to do, instead of wander around completely lost.
