Scroll 8: There should be a mileage program for world hoppers [visual]
[Well thankfully, Saori's looking much better now that both Father's Day and her birthday passed. Amongst the crazy things that happened lately, she's found some time to relax. She's at home in the Commune and Mana, her cat, watches over her shoulder.]
So I was wondering about something. I know there are a few of us, like myself, who aren't strangers to being dragged from our home world to another. I can't help but be curious as to what other worlds we've been to. This is actually the third world I've been dragged to. Before this, it was first Prospero and then Exsilium. It's rather interesting how each world tends to differ when it comes to power limits and what not.
Huh, now that I think about it, maybe we could use a support group for world hoppers....well, if anypony is interested that is.

Ah didn't know ya been to three worlds now...that sounds rough.

I didn't know you were in an another besides your home world. Well, it is but it makes accepting a new world easier as time goes on.

[It feels weird describing where she's from like this...]
Rakuen City is the other place Ah got pulled to. From what Ah've seen that was more or less like Earth...lotta technology we ain't even dreamed of back in Crimea.
Um...the rest of that is somethin' Ah think would be better said with the privacy stuff on the scrolls. It...wasn't that fun.

[She nods and won't press her for more details now. Instead, she smiles.]
I understand completely. We've all had our share of horrors from these worlds. If you ever want want to talk about it, you're always welcome to talk to me in private.

The farthest I've done was to the moon.

No one from from that dimension has shown up here yet, but there's a bunch of people who got stuck there with me!

[She says totally brightly.]
[visual]
I'm definitely interested.

It sounds like you have a good idea.

I didn't think I'd see more of from Exsilium until now.
Well, it was just a thought that came to me, you know? I figured we've been around the block or two with the things these worlds then to throw us through.

It's good to have someone to talk to about it and not feel like you're crazy.
no subject
[She gently smiles.]
I know the feeling very well. I noticed there's a handful of us with similar experiences and it can be hard to talk about them sometimes.
no subject
...depending on certain things, I can understand. Some of those places were not very good.

I'm Shan by the way.

...It's kind of a long story.
[He was fine with explaining the community, but he knows not all offworlders are from worlds that have computers, much less the internet.]
no subject
Yes, I'm sure that counts too. Interesting, so this community served as the connecting point and allowed you to jump to other worlds? I've only experienced that once in Exsilium. The common trend seems to be just staying in one world after being dragged into it.

Twice a month, it would release these viruses and I don't mean the computer kind or the disease kind. It could range from turning people into animals, into other gender, alter a person's memories temporary, make them act weird, even temporary alter the weather or make people's things attack them.
Sometimes it would even transport some of us to another location. Either it'll be something fun like the time we got to go on a ski-trip for a week or something not fun like the time we got stuck for four days in an abandoned mall with zombies trying to kill us.
Usually the viruses only lasted a week unless it was multiple viruses being released at once, then it lasted slightly longer than that.
...It also had a habit of recording video of people without them knowing sometimes.

That said, I'm from the Twilight Sparkle from Mayfield. No matter what anyone says, that town was not the perfect place to live.
no subject
I'll definitely take your word about that. It seems to be a common theme with some of the worlds we've been to. Nice name, but nightmare inducing things happen.
no subject
How about the worlds you visited?

The last world I was in, we were actually brought in by a rebel group called the Initiative. It was much more futuristic world but it was ruled by a global tyrannical power, the United Earth. Our mission was to dismantle the power by messing with key events in the past to stop it from being created. We often hit many setbacks but, we somehow managed to win. It's still hard to believe we managed it pull it off.

(A fact that Twilight has since learned and relearned in her memories of Equestria, her time in Mayfield and her time in this Equestria.)
...We actually had a similar incident with the shadows back in December. A fog rolled over Ponyville and shadows of others began roaming the town. They represented the true self that others don't like admitting to and denying them sent them into a frenzy, but accepting them granted the power to summon their Persona.

Ah, yes, Alastor told me about it. And truth be told, we had a similar event in Prospero as well. When I do think look back on it, my younger self was lucky not to give into mine. If it had happened much later, I might've died again and I seriously don't need another notch in that belt.
[visual]
It's not a very happy filly that appears on the scroll. A bit depressed, a bit determined, but not happy at all. Still, she couldn't ignore this post, and it's something else to think about while she's figuring out what to do next.]
... You're really the Nakagawa-san from Exsilium?
We never met back then, but... I was there for a whole year.
[visual]
Uh, yeah, that's me. The former owner of the Uji tea house there.
I didn't expect this many people to coming over from Exsilium. So you've seen quite a lot too.
[visual]
[Rise hadn't exactly been the most willing of captives. She tried a little bit at first, for the sake of her friends. But over time, she just retreated further and further. She only knows Saori from the network, whenever she checked it.
Despite what's going on now, and even more depressing thoughts of her year spent in Exsilium, a little tiny sliver of hope creeps into her voice.]
... How many are there? Is Sheryl-senpai...?
[She's sure she'd know by now if Sheryl were in this world. But maybe... it's possible? She doesn't dare hope for Junko, and she's certain Pidonus would have contacted her.]
[visual]
[She does a mental head count. Including herself and Rise, there was her friend Margulis, and now Adam.]
Four of us total as of now. There was a moment where several others had arrived here a long with a few others from other worlds but they only stayed for a few days. Some of us came from earlier events in Exsilium but I was there until the very end.
[visual]
[Only four, huh? That's more than being the only one, at least. But she really had so few friends left in Exsilium by the end, chances are she still won't see any of them ever again.]
... Me too. I mean, I was there until the end.
It's not like I could really help back there, but...
[She actually stops herself there. Before she can make herself feel even worse. She had a lot of negative feelings towards Exsilium, and with the heartbreak of finding out she'd never have a chance with Yu... the last thing she needs is to go down that road again.]
... Oh! I never introduced myself, huh? I'm Rise.
[She tries to smile, but it's obviously not entirely genuine. A poor attempt for someone who's supposed to be a natural at acting. But that's what happens in a mood like this. It's just not possible to fake perfectly good cheer.]
[visual]
[She's no stranger to that sort of smile. Now wouldn't be a good time to press for details. Even with a privacy filter, Saori couldn't help but be wary of the idea of others overhearing things on the scrolls.]
We've been through a lot during our time in Exsilium. You seem to have a lot on your mind, but we can take things a little at a time if you like. I do have a tea house here. It's called Otsuki Chacha and it's in the Night Market. You're welcome to come by and the first order's on me, okay?
[visual]
[In Rise's case, it was more that she was constantly losing friends from day one. Usually within weeks of getting close to them. But a few stuck around until the end... a couple of the most important ones.]
I'm just glad it's over... but there's weird things that happen here, too.
[She sure does have a lot on her mind, and she's actually on her way to deal with some things at the moment. But it's boring making the journey by herself, so she'd check the scroll from time to time.]
Otsuki Chacha... okay. I'll come visit as soon as I can!
{She still seems like she's got a lot of things to deal with, but she manages a genuine smile. Saori seems really nice... and she'd like to get to know her here, since she didn't get the chance in Exsilium.]
