As the scroll turns on, it pans over a complicated-looking array of pulleys and levers before revealing Mako, her mane mussed and hat askew.

"Hello! I've been setting something up, and I thought I'd broadcast the first attempt, see if it worked!"

With that, she turns the scroll back to the array, revealing that set within them is...a mirror? Humming softly, Mako places the scroll in a portion of the array and begins chattering as she starts to operate it.

"This is something I got in the dungeon before it closed up in April - a relic from my homeworld known as the Reveal Glass. I thought it might be interesting if I set things up to project what's reflected in the mirror onto the scroll, since...well, you'll see in just a few seconds, so why spoil the surprise?"

Indeed, the scroll has been manipulated so that the interior of the Reveal Glass takes up most of its available visual space as Mako moves around underneath it, positioning herself to reflect in the mirror.

"Tah-dah!"

On the scroll, a young woman grins confidently, her blue eyes sparkling merrily.

[There's no yelling. There's no telling him he should never say that. There's no calling him names. There is just a very quiet sound, the disappointment in the name uttered obvious.]

Your mirror's real neato, though! Have you tried it on anything else?

...That's not made outta knives?

[And even if that's all there is, it's probably the worst reaction out of the bunch. You could almost hear his heart shatter.]

...I'll go sleep outside tonight.

[Well now how is he going to figure out how many eggs he can flush down a toilet at one time?!]

[Yu gave a faint nod, accepting that punishment... because as funny and as innocent as it was intended, it was obvious that no one else was going to take it that way.]

[He really didn't want Teddie to find that lesson out like this, but...]

The reflection raises an eyebrow.

"...I've tried it on several of my friends, as well as my entire team. In fact, hold on a second..."

There's a pause as the reflection of Mako looks backwards and makes some beckoning gestures, quickly followed by the sound of tiny claws clicking against the floor.

Scientifically speaking, that's actually a really good question...

And then, as Mako moves from her spot, her reflection in the Reveal Glass is replaced...with a three-headed dragon. Mako's voice comes from offscreen as she provides an introduction.

"This is my daughter, Etranger!"

The reflection of the dragon blinks all six eyes and happily waves hello.

"Hiya! I saw you before when Mr. Dante was babysitting us!"

Wha- Why would I get grounded?!

[He was acting like a (scientific) sexist jerk, BUT HE SHOULDN'T GET GROUNDED. CAN HE EVEN GET GROUNDED?]

[Okay, he takes that back. The knife guy isn't so bad compared to, well, that. Teddie could barely stand close to a one-headed dragon. Three heads is far too many!]

G-GAH!! You have an adorable voice!!

[Yes, despite all his fear and the obvious crying, the only thing he can manage to say is a compliment. But let's be real, that is not the kind of voice he expected out of something like that.]

"That's what it's here for! I have it set up in the shed behind our house; we live on the commune."

All three heads gape open in a happy grin at that.

"Thanks, Mr. Bear! What's your name?"

The reflection nods.

"Yep! Some of my friends have seen themselves in it, and I tried it out on my team, too."
