3rd Breakfast: A message and a music number

I would like to thank the two ponies who helped me yesterday. Your kindness helped me... greatly. [He takes a deep breath to keep his emotions in check.]

For you two, and for anypony who will listen I would like to share a song. I once sang it during a dark time. At that time I was not sure there would be a good end. If it was possible. And yet all was well in the end. Perhaps it can bring us some luck. Or it will bring some peace to your hearts at least?

[He stands straight, closes his eyes as he takes in a breath, then starts to sing an almost haunting tune.]

Oh dear...I must admit, I have not seen anything quite like that.

...Something almost as frightening to me, perhaps, but not like her. That aura of hers...it was like evil incarnate.

Might I ask what it reminded you of, if you are comfortable sharing?

Y-Yes. I don't mind talking about it. He's gone now so it's not so scary to speak of.

On my last adventure I traveled far from home with some fellow hobbits. We were caught up in war and the terrors that others were fighting in those distant lands. It was all to stop the Dark Lord.

Sauron. He raised an army of orcs and trolls in his land, Mordor, where he watched everything from a great tower in the form of a flaming eye. He had the full intention of invading the other lands, slaughtering thousands, and taking our world for himself.

I... made a mistake. I looked into the palantir- it was like a ball full of strange lights and shapes that could show you things. I was warned against it- I shouldn't have. I was just so curious!

When I looked into it, I saw him. And he saw me. His gaze felt hot and terrible! It was like falling into the fire with him all around you. Her stare reminded me of that moment.

That..sounds similar to what I felt then, yes. Evil and filled with hate and anger...

I am sorry you went through such, Pippin-san.

I have not been through such, but...now that I think on it, I recall when I was younger Eri meeting a man that...felt evil, for lack of a better word.

"Did that man have a terrible stare like she does?" It was an unusual thing to bond over- scary memories, but not an unfamiliar sort of conversation after the adventures Pippin had been through before.
