My Appletree, My Brightness [private visual to Harvey]
[Donna's had some time to think about what she might want to say. She's seen that kind of grief. Seen the Doctor's eyes shine with tears for the loss of so many - for his children and his companions and his people. Felt the grief, sick and heavy, in her own heart when she'd had the children she'd thought were hers, ripped from her grasp in a failing and frantic program. That's not something you just get over, and everybody has their way. The Doctor ran and screamed his rage and feeling at villains and needed to be stopped. Donna stored it away in her heart, pulling it out in the night as she sobbed into her pillow, grieving the loss of people who hadn't even been real.
Her expression is somber as she contacts Harvey. She doesn't really know Flare and they've only just had an argument about the Pale Pony a few weeks earlier. The mare isn't sure if she'll get a response, but he should know there are people who aren't going to kick him in the gut in his darkest hour.]
Missed you at the Decanter last night, Mr. Finevoice. Been missing you for a couple of nights now. Reckon I know what that's all about now, what with the hullabaloo. I know we aren't friends, but... sorry. I wanted to say how sorry I am. Losing your kid- [Her voice cracks and she has to swallow down her emotion.]
If there's anything I can do for you... and Flare. Let me know. I can do cooking, tidy up around the house for you, see to the washing up. Anything you need to make it easier. I'm so sorry.

Thanks.
Just nice to know there's still a few friendly folks out there. [he's not bitter]
[visual]
[text]
Didn't have any stashed here, ain't felt like shopping.
[And...well, okay, not like Flare'd let him anyway, regardless of their mutual binge a few nights back. The only things keeping him from a total relapse are basically his girlfriend and a crippling unwillingness to get up and go anywhere.]
Everything going okay there?
[visual]
At the Decanter? They're making do, having more open mic nights, lately. I'm sure they'll manage if you decide to keep out of the pub scene for a bit. Some bloke named Stand Up's all right. Sort of changes the tone of a place when you go from a lounge to a comedy club. Not really bad, but I'd rather just have music.
Have you done anything for Liz, yet? Any sort of ceremony?
[She's not going to call it a wake or memorial, but she would like to honor his loss if she can and he hasn't seen to that part of the grieving.]
[text]
[He hasn't seen anything similar done for others who disappeared, rather than actually being murdered first. Harvey has a terrible track record with funerals - he was completely sauced during Charlie's, barely remembers it, and he only got through 90s Kid's because Liz was with him. But now that she's brought it up, it seems wrong not to do anything...]
[visual]
I thought I'd gotten married, had kids, lived years with all of them. Ella and Joshua. Then it all got taken away. They were never real, you know? But we had a little service. For them and for Lee... my dream man. I know Liz must be so much more than that.
[visual]
I'm sorry, too. Can't hurt any less just 'cause it was...like that. [He finishes lamely, having failed to think of a way to put "all in your head" kindly.] I guess she deserves to have somethin', but...I ain't sure I can do it right now.
[visual]
That's fine. Whenever you're ready for it. Giving it a bit of time can be better. [God knows she's still waiting for the Doctor - her Doctor - to mourn Jenny, his clone daughter. He'd held her in his arms as she died, then stood beside her as they'd placed a sheet over her head... and that was all. Donna's almost certain he's keeping it all in just being 'always all right.']
Would it help to talk about her at all? Tell me what she was like for you? Or we could talk about anything else, if you'd like. Spotty on my royal gossip here, but there's scandals aplenty.
[visual]
[He dresses nice himself, but it ain't because he wants to fit in with those jerks. They're no different than the rich back home, just with "Duke" or "Baron" or whatever tacked on.]
I don't know. I know - I know she's in that THING, more than actually bein'...gone. But the Pale Pony's kinda like somethin' we fought back home. Had the same kinda eyes, absorbed folks the same way. I was with it for a while.
I ain't sure this isn't worse.
[visual]
[The fact that he'd been absorbed by it is distinctly troubling. She'd rather focus on the good outcomes here. Clearly, Harvey and his friends managed to beat it.]
[visual]
[visual]
Oh. Glad he found some way, at least. So, it just released everybody, then ate itself?
[She doesn't like that option, but it's better than the alternative of killing everybody inside.]
[visual]
Somethin' like that, I guess. I don't remember that part too well.
[visual]
[Harvey has a nice voice if they need someone persuasive to talk Calice into letting people go and turning inward for absorption.]
[visual]
Then he told it there was somethin' no one knew the answer to that it could go find out. What happens when an Elder God dies?
[visual]
Don't suppose you could try arguing with an Elder God if it shows its face again? You do talk 'pretty,' Harvey.
[visual]
That was the kid. Only thing I could do when it showed up was get eaten.
[visual]
[She's British. Forgive her humor, please.]
no subject
Yeah, okay, here's one. If the Pale Pony jumps ya, don't shoot her in the face. It ain't gonna help, and you'll just look like an idiot. [He's pretty sure that would just be common sense.]
no subject
Also something to keep in mind. When should I drag you out of your house? I know you're probably going to want to hide in there forever, and that's all right for now, but there gets to be a point... two, three months out that that's not all right anymore.
no subject
And you don't gotta drag me outta the house.
no subject
All right. Do you need me to do anything for you right now, though? I could bake a pie, get a tub of ice cream from the market. Have you seen all of the Equestrian Games events? Spike recorded them. We could have a watch. The relay race was fun.
no subject
[Avoiding the actual question. He can't ask her to do anything for him.]
We can wrap up and fade to black, or have Donna turn up and bother him!
I'll be over in about an hour, Mr. Finevoice.
[She rolls up her scroll and heads over to the commune's kitchen to sort out the supplies she'll need for a pie.]
no subject
[Aaaaaaaaaand she's gone.
Harvey didn't particularly want this to happen. At least, that's what he's telling himself. But there isn't much he can do to stop it now; of course he's still gonna be home in an hour.]
