Scroll 11: Birds of a Feather [visual, locked from Margulis]

[Saori's scroll opens up to a kitchen in the middle of being redecorated. Considering their "family" of the two, her pets, and their continuously growing collection of books were outgrowing the commune's accommodations, they decided moving would be the next option. Neither Margulis nor her pets are to be seen though. She even has a soundproofing spell in case the other unicorn overhears her. This was, to her at least, something rather important to her that she can't have him eavesdrop on.]

Hey everypony, as you can see the house Margulis and I bought is on its way. If all goes to plan, it'll be finished in no time. Also I'm still drafting ideas for more season and holiday based tea blends, but everyone's welcome to send their suggestions to Otsuki Chacha too.

Okay the reason behind this post...this is going to seem out of the blue but is there a way to get a phoenix for a pet? You see, it was about two years ago since Margulis and I really became friends back in our first world, Prospero. And since Calice's appearance, I had time to reflect about friendships and honestly, if it wasn't for him, I don't think I could've made this far. He loves phoenixes and considering how they exist here, I was just wondering if it's possible.

It's... possible. I don't think it's easy, though, I've only seen Celestia keep a phoenix as a pet longer than a few days.

Spike brought a baby home once but it... um. Well, he lives in a library... [ No more needs be said. ]

Somehow I had a feeling they were higher maintenance. I think Margulis will take good care of it. I'm just glad that they're not illegal to have.

I don't know... it's not really the k-kind of thing there are laws against... but...

They are wild animals, you know. You'd be taking a poor little phoenix chick from its mother...

You do have a good point. It's not likely that parents wouldn't abandon their chick either.

Maybe... maybe he'd like a nice cockatiel, or a parakeet? Ooh! What about a bat?

It's possible, but very few ponies have them as pets. They're quite difficult to obtain.

I can speak with Celestia, if you'd like. She has a phoenix named Philomena.

I can imagine. My world has phoenixes too but it's super rare to see one as a pet.

You're very welcome, Saori. A phoenix can be an incredible responsibility, so if anyone will be able to help, it'd be Celestia.

So...you've known him for two years? You two must've formed quite a friendship, especially if you want to get him a phoenix.

Yes, a strictly platonic friendship. I know we often get mistaken for a couple, but we're not. He's not attracted to females in that sense. We helped each other through some super hard times.

I understand. Still, it's always refreshing to see bonds that strong. I can't imagine what you two went through, but I can imagine you coming out fine with each others' help.

Considering this is our third world, we've more or less have a synergy that's top-notched. I know he can seem intimidating, can go hammy at times, and can go on long-winded speeches but I couldn't ask for a better friend. We may have come from completely different worlds, but we've bonded over many things. Plus, it's great to have someone with such a spice tolerance as high as mine!

[She laughs because that's how they truly bonded in their first world.]

It just goes to show that a lifelong bond like that can come from anywhere. That's what I really enjoy about these situations: they let people who'd otherwise never meet...meet! And any one of those meetings can lead to friendship.
