26th Lance ↟ | Morale Fades [Visual]

[Shortly after Rise comes to her and they discover Cirno's disappearance, with a pained spirit, Nephenee picks up her scroll, thinking of how to best to announce it. Ultimately, given her own struggling to stay calm visually, she opts for voice. There's a bit of silence before she speaks, but her voice is quiet when it begins, full of hesitation.]

Um...everypony? Ah...

[A sigh.]

Ah jus' wanted to let folks know that Cirno's gone. She..vanished sometime this mornin'. Ah jus'...hope she's back in her world or...that she comes back soon.

So...please forgive me if Ah ain't myself for a bit....

...Does...anypony mind if Ah an' Daisy, Amara, an' Astra stay with 'em...? J-jus' for a bit..? It...feels real empty here without my sisters...

[That's all she's willing to say for the moment. She's going to hide in her secret tree in the woods for a bit.]

You gonna crash here tonight?

[He's more than fine with her doing so, of course. Actually he worries about sending her home alone, so he really hopes he doesn't have to convince her...]

Why would Ah cr-[Wait a minute.] Oh, ya mean stay over!

[She's good at this. Insert sheepish rubbing back of neck here.]

Daddy's gonna let me stay at his place tonight, an' the Fluttershys said Ah could another night...how 'bout tomorrow? Ah already told Dad Ah'd take him up on it tonight...

[Otherwise, yeah, she'd be all for crashing on the futon after grabbing Astra.]

Well, if you intend to make good on that promise, you might need to move now before I have to carry you all the way over there. [He's disappointed, but certainly good at hiding it. The important thing is that Neph is all right, and if she's going to be all right somewhere else, he can't ask for more than that.]

Maybe, but...it ain't that late, is it?

[She looks up at the clock - nope, not late at all. Barely three...she thinks for a moment as she nibbles at her cookie.]

...Maybe a nap'd be a good idea? Reset my energy an' noggin...

[And a handy excuse to snuggle and feel a less lonely even in her dreams.]

If you go to sleep here, I can't promise I'll wake you up. I'm not THAT virtuous. [Sad reality -- Morgan simply isn't above keeping her here all night if he gets the choice.]

You're gonna let poor Astra starve?

[Well, if he's gonna be a brat...]

Ah can't take responsibility if he pecks at ya, then.

[She and Astra are brats, too.]

It's out of my hands, Neph. [He lifts his hooves in a helpless shrug.] I'm a poor boy helpless to fight against your incredible appeal.

[There was a snorted 'Hmph' at that.]

You're helpless, all right...

[Rolling her eyes in fondness rather than annoyance, she downs the rest of the little bit of hot chocolate she has left, before looking down into the mug somewhat forlornly and sighing.]

Now Ah'm jus' more sad. No Cirno, gotta leave ya, an' no hot chocolate.

Considering how much you've already had, your figure might thank you for the past one. [He delivers a gentle poke to her sides, barely a tickle.]

[The 'eep!' that escapes her is automatic at this point.]

Hey, that's muscle! Though the doctor would probably thank ya if Ah did manage to gain weight...been tryin' to so Ah can actually be a bit healthier, but my body runs through stuff so fast...

[Fast and hot metabolisms are hard.]

Huh, really? I don't see a damn thing wrong with you. It's not like you're a hundred percent solid, there's a pleasant softness... [And having said that, Morgan begins expanding the scope of his touch, the better to verify what he'd just said.]

[Ngh...she won't lie, that feels nice.]

S-sure that ain't my fur?

[There is softness, but...]

It's not really 'wrong with'...it's jus' ya need a certain amount o'fat to be healthy an' cushion things. Ah'm a lil'under what he wants it to be, so Ah've been tryin' to eat a bit more high-calorie stuffin's...Which still feels kinda odd, Ah guess. Ah mean, Ah grew up not eatin' a lotta sweets an' such...these cookies're 'bout as good as Ah'd get sometimes.

[Well. If she's going to let him explore her body with his hooves, he is damn well going to get his hooves all over her. Don't look a sexy gift horse in the mouth.] I know that. I'm just saying I don't think you're really in a bad state as far as these things go. You've never seemed unhealthy to me.

[It's comforting, in an odd way...]

Hmm...must not, the way you're gettin' all touchy-feely.

[Even giving him a knowing smile, she's blushing.]

Ah think all the sweets ponies make help.

[Not that her own cooking could be considered 'low-calorie' by any means...]

Well, and you have to consider just what I like in a woman, which DOES amount to a lot of solid muscle and athletic shape. [Touchy, feely, touchy, feely...] So I may be a little biased.

A lil' biased? Right, an' pegasus knights ain't weak to arrows.

[She's feeling a bit playful, even sleepy. Which reminds her she does actually need to disengage at some point...but boyfriends and snuggles.]

Ya can have a few more minutes o'bein' biased, Ah guess...

I will be biased forever. [Morgan is comfortable in this assessment, and despite his acknowledgment that he really should, not letting her go just quite yet.] But I will only directly enjoy it for a few minutes more at best.

Well, guess there's worse fates for a gal...than her fella bein' biased towards her...

[Woo, she might need coffee at this rate. At least once she gets up and moving she'll feel a bit more alert.]

Ah'm lucky to have somepony like ya...ya know that?

Bah. Luck has nothing to do with it. You got it by being you.

[Very reluctantly and quite slowly, Morgan shifts his hooves to start gently pushing her back to her feet properly.]

But you said yourself, not staying here all night, and if you don't move...

[And very reluctantly, she lets him. Once she's dropped to them, she whistles some tune, and that seems to get Daisy and Amara's attention, even if Cloud's still on Daisy's back. Cats.]

Sorry guys, we need to go back home for a bit, then go see Dad.

[While they're situating themselves, their owner wraps her hooves around her suitor's neck, sighing a little as she squeezes him tight.]

Reckon Ah've said it a bunch already, but...thanks, darlin'. I-it means a lot.

No thanks needed, Neph. [He returns the high with a tight squeeze of his own. If he has one regret, it's that she's already spoken for tonight... but he can understand.] I'm just glad I could help.

Ya did, more than ya know.

[The hurt's still there, but the immense comfort and stability he provides helps lessen it a little, or at least makes it easier to bear...]

Ah...do ya mind if we meet a lil' later tomorrow for our run? Ah...think Ah might wanna sleep in a lil'...

[Not a lot, mind, it's still Neph, but with all the worrying she's done and the sleep she's bound to lose..]

Yeah, no, don't worry on that score. You earned it, you deserve it. Just send me a scroll message, okay? [In a saner world she could just text him, but Equestria has its own conveniences.]

All right...A-Ah will. At least, breakfast maybe? If not that, at least lunch.

[She will get to him, it's just a matter of when she wakes up and if Crmsn insists she take it easy...wait, what do you mean IF, Neph?]

Ah...reckon Ah'm gonna be tired no matter what, but Ah promise Ah'll get a hold o'ya as soon as Ah can.

[Stiiiill holding onto him. Can you blame her for wanting to hold onto some stability, though?]

[He's already pointed out that she's an inch from staying. He's not gonna do it again. On her own head be it if she flops right here.]

I know. You take as much time as you need and get as much rest as you can.
