2nd Burn [Visual]
[It's been nearly a month, and since Yang doesn't have classes or missions, things have been a little...routine. Also, she needs to start earning some bits around here for one reason or another. Only problem is, her favored skill set doesn't seem to be the most useful thing here...]
So, say you're somebody who likes a good adventure and works well with a group. Anyone have job suggestions for someone who's been training for a career protecting people and isn't half bad at it, if she does say so herself?
[She giggles.]
Honestly though, anybody hiring long-term? I'm kinda saving up for something so I'm open to any old job.
[Although one that's got even just the smallest chance for excitement would be fantastic.]
Oh yeah, and would the members of Teams RWBY and JNPR here be interested in a little group huddle? Make sure everybody's up to speed and talk some future strategies.
[Jobs, keeping up their training, weaponry issues, the fact that somepony who shall remain nameless is still living in the woods even though winter is coming. ...Speaking of which...]
We can all meet-up at Jaune's campground.
[So you know...heads up, Jaune.]

[Action??]
The Night Market happens to be short a guard... two, if one of them decides to make repeated expeditions into that which mortals were not meant to know.
Not exciting work, by far... it is merely peacekeeping at the local offworld-run market district, but you may in fact... potentially fit its qualifications.
[The mare pushes off those shades before storing them in her mane.]
Would you have any interest?
[Action]
Weirdly enough, that fashion choice doesn't phase her at all; Shades are cool, and her sister wears a hood after all. She recovers her confident posture and smiles.]
Sure. Helping keep the peace is what huntsmen and huntresses are supposed to do back home.
[...Usually by fighting horrific monsters but there seems to be a lack of that here.]
Taking a job as a guard or something was kinda what I was hoping for, honestly.
[Although what was that about somebody making expeditions into territory unfit for mortals? That kinda sounds like a blast.]
[Action]
What, pray tell, do you normally hunt back in your home world?
[Action]
[She shrugs her shoulders.]
They're these big, hulking, soulless beasts that live all over Remnant. That's the world me, my sister, and a few of our friends here come from.
[Wow, it's weird explaining this to somebody that's never heard of them.]
Glowing red eyes, sharp teeth and claws, some of them have spikes and bony armor, especially the older ones. A lot of them look like bigger shadowy versions of other animals. They're attracted to negative thoughts and have a thing for trying to attack and kill humans.
[Action]
One shows higher intelligence and offers a brief ceasefire - if not for its allies, then for itself. Do you accept? Provide your reasoning.
[OH YEAH. Luna forgot to mention that guard interviews involved a POP MORALITY QUIZ. Maybe she should put that on the fliers.]
[Action]
Not only does Yang look surprised by the question. She looks genuinely confused, or at least unsure of how to politely explain to the pony in front of her that Grimm don't work like that.
So she's going to answer that question...with some questions of her own.]
Well...I guess that would depend. Am I alone on this one or do I have my team with me? Does this happen in the middle of an attack or before the fighting starts?
[Glancing aside a moment, she rubs a fore-hoof against the gauntlet on her other foreleg, before she looks straight back at Luna.]
...Do I have any kind of guarantee I'm not going to get sliced in two or my head bitten off the moment I stop firing shots?
[This is definitely not a stall tactic while she tries to wrap her head around such a scenario having even the slightest chance of happening. Ever. Totally not at all stalling for time.]
Re: [Action]
There are infinite universes, and infinite permutations of those infinite universes. You cannot assume, while you are not in your homeworld, that anything will behave exactly as you expect. Monsters that are little more than bloodthirsty, mindless predators may in fact show intelligence... or even be benevolent.
[That said, Yang did ask questions that needed answers.]
It is peacetime. You are approached alone, and yet the fact you are alone and it is not attacking despite having the element of surprise is all the guarantee you can be promised.
[Action]
She frowns a little as she thinks hard over the scenario being presented before finally answering.]
Alright. Then I'd accept.
[She's speaking honestly, but there's no hiding the reluctance in her response, especially when she continues with her reasoning.]
But I'm keeping my gauntlets armed until I know for sure this isn't some kind of trick. And if it wants to speak with my teammates or anyone else, then it's going to have to do it at a time and place of my choosing. I'm not leading my friends or innocent people into a potential ambush.
[There's a pause, and then, almost as an afterthought.]
If my sister or my partner have a different approach I'll take it into consideration though.
[And Weiss too. Maybe. They were a team after all, and Ruby was the leader, not her. This felt like the sort of thing that would be best discussed between all four of them in order to reach a decision of how to proceed. Assuming that was possible anyway, given the circumstances.]
[Action]
A pony you have a personal animosity with is getting heckled for a mistake someone else made. Do you step in to set things straight?
[This one is much more clear... and hopefully doesn't deal with mindless abominations.]
[Action]
Buuut that wouldn't be the right thing to do, and she knows that.]
I'll intervene.
[...]
I might keep an eye on them just in case they try to pull something later though.
[You have to appreciate how bluntly truthful she is, at least.]
[Action]
Regardless, one of the things that had come up in her discussions with Bertie and Dame Rarity was that she was being a bit too strict in the guard selection process, and honestly, a wet sponge would probably be more impartial and better in a fight than Dan was. This girl's heart is in the right place, at least...]
The Night Market is a neutral zone where discrimination based on species, native status, social standing or any other reason is strictly forbidden. A place where nobody is judged based on past transgressions outside the market borders. As of such, you would likely be placed in situations where you must choose between what you personally believe and what is in the name of equality.
Are you still interested?
[Action]
At least there's only a moment's hesitation before she answers.]
Yes, of course I am.
[She still needed a job for starters, but that wasn't the only reason now. She gives a confident smile.]
I can do that. It's just a matter of making sure I hear everyone's side of the story before acting, right? I can do that.
[Even if Torchwick and a bunch of Grimm or something all decided to go shopping on the same day. ...Probably. ...Hopefully that wouldn't actually happen.
And with the average crowd of market-goers, she was sure that'd be no problem at all for her.]
