4th Moonrise: Changing of the Guard, Literally (Text)
[The following missive is in a familiar immaculate hornwriting, meaning it's obvious who it's from, provided it isn't forged.]
By Lunar decree, may I acknowledge the tentative appointment of Yang Xiao Long in the Night Market guard position formerly held by Dan Mandel. As this is the first instance of such a change in faculty, the following apply:
Yang is to be considered in training for the period of one (1) month. She will retain constabulary duties as long as she is in the company of another trained guard, and should she abuse the power granted to her by the acting sovereign Luna of the Night Market, those duties - and her employment - shall be stripped from her. If she maintains proper morals in the interim, she will be instated as a guard formally at the turn of the new year.
Many thanks for your time. Following this notice are individualized statements.
[Private to Alastor]
Yang does wish, at some point, to be introduced to and/or to spar with your bloodgoyles. I told her that it was entirely your discretion, as those magicks are not under my jurisdiction.
Consider it the proviso for keeping your elevated pay despite not being Daniel's foalsitter any more.
[Private to Dante]
Any and all sparring is to be done away from the Night Market. I do not doubt her capabilities, however I fear the potential interaction that would occur when you two meet in combat.
[Private to York]
There is little I know about Yang's world in particular, though it appears that she appeared within a short time frame with several others from her world, and she spoke of fighting creatures that strike myself personally as unpleasantly familiar.
Your newest assignment: Get to know this group better, and pass on anything you may learn regarding the "Grimm".
[Private to Yang]
Welcome aboard. I believe I already discussed the rules of the Night Market and the various business-related procedures with you, but if you wished to ask me anything about that or anything else, I would be happy to answer.
...except the miniskirt. Accept "it was a lost challenge" as the only explanation I will provide there.

Text, mind the hoofwriting
Text, she's probably used to it by now, Mr. Chicken Scratch
Text, English letters are hard, okay?
Text, luckily pony writing is nigh illegible too
Text, don't you mean 'neigh' illegible?
Text
Text; it's a bit slow, typing with hooves is weird
[She certainly intends to do her very best.]
If I can say one thing? I thought the mini-skirt was pretty stylish.
[The shades weren't half-bad either.]
Text; dear strong yang how do you text with shotgun gauntlets on
[Rarity did do a good job on it, didn't she? Luna might still be a bit humble about it, though.]
Text; probably less carefully than she should be doing it
[Princess Luna certainly seems like the kind who could take down horrific shadow beasts all while looking fabulous.
Also has Luna heard about the butt-cape initiative?]Either way, I think I'll have to pay your stylist a visit sometime.
[Eventually she'd like to get at least an extra outfit to wear while she's stuck here. It's too bad her other huntress outfit didn't make the trip with her.]
Text; far more melodramatic than necessary
Text; melodrama is never unnecessary

She may ask to spar.
[Text]
...During off hours, of course.

[And then there's this amused-looking blonde pony. She's starting to really get the hang of these scrolls. And that sure was a heck of a trill on that "Hello".]
Why wait when you can do it now?
[Visual]
...That works. Yo. Take it you're Yang?

You have already proven your skill as an investigator, it appears.
[She might be buttering him up, given that this would technically be his first job that isn't "see how Alastor is doing" or "try to find Crmsn". Or "keep Dan from setting ponies on fire".]
[Text, private]
I'll do my best to observe as soon as I have the chance. Though, do you happen to have any preliminary information? Something to jump off of would help immensely.
[Text, private]
[Text]
I'll be sure she knows how to stay out of trouble.
[Text, Private]
I would like to remind you, Crmsn, that I would prefer my guards make the clientele at the Night Market feel safe. That is not easy to do when one of them decides to vanish for nearly a month in order to enact a dangerous plan that is assured to further aggravate powers we have yet to fully learn how to counteract.
[Text, Private]
I understand you disagree with my decision and I apologize for not telling you before I left my post. Also before you start pointing hooves, perhaps it'd be prudent to be reminded that, as our boss, you should probably not go off to fight the most powerful demon overlord in the entire freaking cosmos alone.
That being said, if you wish a full debrief I'd be happy to inform you.
[Text, Private] I lack any properly Yamato Hotsuin-esque laugh icons
[Text, Private] That's because demons aren't invadi-wait....

How have things been going with the shop? I hope that incident with your hot sauce did not cause you to lose much business.

Thank you for letting us know,
Princess[There's much scratching out of that. She's not used to this yet.] Miss Luna. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for her, and help her out if she needs it. Ain't met her yet, so I'll make sure to say hi.Text
Tell me; how has Satygraha fared in the past few months? I do not oft speak with Donatello or Pollo about such matters, after all, so I have lost track of its welfare.

I would not be adverse to another meeting over tea or lunch, however.
