[There have been a lot of apologies going around since they'd managed to reforge the 'Fire of Friendship' to drive off the Windigos. Donna's been holding off, too embarrassed to join in the chorus, but there's really not a way to avoid it. At least she can limit the apology proper to the members of the commune. Everyone else? Well, there were a lot of people who could help with building.]

Hey, everybody. This is Donna Noble from the Ponyville Commune. We had some trouble recently and are looking for any help we can get to organize a building party. This isn't just for the commune, though, it's something I'd like to put together for something more regular in case any of us need the help. With everything we've faced since getting here, with as kind as the ponies in Ponyville are, I think we owe it to them to have some sort of, I dunno, on-call group. A bunch of us who'll come and fix something up if it gets knocked down in the latest invasion or whatever. If you'd like to help, please let me know. I'll be setting something up for the commune soon. I know the Agency needs some work for expansion, too, that we could see to helping with after that.


Locked to Commune Residents
[Donna takes a deep breath before addressing the scroll this time.]

Donna, here, again. I just wanted to say everybody at the Commune that I'm sorry. I'm the one who half burned down the barn. I'll see to setting it right, help or not, but... I-I need to get ahold of the powers I've suddenly got. They're dangerous. I think I should probably leave for a bit until that's sorted. Plenty of nice caves in the Everfree. [Her smile is more half-hearted than she meant it to be.] I want to make sure the repairs happen, but after that, I'll see myself off just until I can figure out a little more control. Nephenee, I'm more than happy to keep track of the commune's finances still. Just might be a little more work communicating via scroll.

[It's strange, Surprise supposes, but the more time she's spent here the easier it's become to talk about it. It helps in part that everyone else here has had their own trials, many of them coming from some terrible worlds or pasts of their own. She may not want to talk about her own past too specifically, but it's becoming easier, not seeming too much like the unfathomable task, of speaking with others about where she was from.

It could perhaps help to tone it down a bit, but that's something she'll learn in time.]

It'd be worth a shot. Hey man, how many unicorns we have with us some of us might be able to figure out for free.

It'd, uh...it'd be nice to know at least something won't burn down here!

I mean, not that I just think everything is going to burn down here some day, like some stray flicker of flame'll set the whole place to roast and worry endless about that! I mean that'd be silly!

It's just. You know. Nice to prepare for horrible things. Like fire!

[Donna's features become progressively more grave as Surprise stumbles forward through her reassurances.]

I'm not going to burn everything down, okay!

[She can't help the outburst. She really can't, not when Surprise is carrying on like she thinks a bomb's going to go off any moment. Like Donna's going to go off.]

It was an accident and that's why we're fireproofing it! I'll pay to fireproof the whole bloody village if you're that worried!

[Oh. Oh this is bad. Surprise recoils a little bit at the outburst, stammering aimlessly for a few seconds. It's been a while since she's gone this far into her nervous territory like this...]

Well...I....I mean you know, I...

I know you're not going to burn anything down! I mean, who said anything about you burning anything down man, I sure didn't! We don't got to go to no extremes! I was just saying, it's....you know, it's...

Sometimes fires just happen, that's all! I mean who can predict fire I sure can't!

Oh, my god! Would you stop talking about fire and burning and burning fire... and fire and- oh, bloody hell!

[Surprise will see Donna's eyes widen before a strange flicker and smoke starts to fill the picture on her scroll. There's the sound of clattering, then hooves beating, a splash and stamping.
