5th Burn [Audio] (Fail-Anon and Fail-Locked from her fellow Remnants)

[Apparently somebody was too distracted or infuriated to correctly make this transmission anonymous, but the voice that sounds over the scroll is so low and choked with barely restrained anger that it's almost too hard to tell who might be speaking anyway.]

I want to know who was responsible for poisoning the water supply last week and where they are now.

[Somebody is not happy. Not happy at all.]

[Today, she's in a good mood. So instead of her usual creeping tone, she'll sound like the a cool whisper.]

Hmn... whoever did this had plotted within themselves. I have not heard a word of their intent. Still, would I be able to do so, I suppose I may be convinced to offer some information.

I suppose I should admire your perseverance to apprehending this villain. I do wonder what you intend to do once you find him, however.

My guess is they intended to make as much of the population disappear as possible.

[Like, she's pretty sure that was the goal given what happened but then again she really doesn't care what their ultimate aim was. Just the results.]

What I intend to do is of no concern to anyone other than the culprit.

I intend to find a better cure than the one that was found.

[Which, given her methods is likely to involve harm but details.]

And the person most likely to know one is whoever was responsible for this.

The pink pony on the scroll looks - and sounds - exhausted.

She sounds deadly serious.

"Not everybody who was trapped in the Dreamscape has returned."

At this, the pony bolts upward in horrified shock and runs away from the scroll.

There's an indistinct conversation - the sound muffled by sheer distance - before the pony returns, looking very intent.

"Sorry, I had to check on someone. Who's missing?"

If there's any reaction from her, it doesn't carry over through the scroll and she answers as if the pause in the conversation was of little concern to her.

"My sister, Ruby Rose. She works at Bon Bon's shop. We were both trapped in the Dreamscape along with a mutual friend, but she hasn't returned."

So she can only assume Ruby's still trapped there because the next most likely scenario is going to make her livid. More so than she is now.

Okay. Work past the frisson of terror, keep your breathing steady and even, and think.

"I can help you find her."

Consider her interest piqued.

Wait... is this about Ruby?

I thought she went on vacation or something without telling me... That's why Zwei isn't around either...

[Honestly, Yang wishes that was the case.]

She was trapped in the Dreamscape with me and she hasn't returned yet.

[The fact that Zwei isn't here is...concerning, to say the least, but she's going to assume their dog also drank the enchanted water at some point and is still trapped there with her.]

Huh... there is another thought though. What if she went home for a little bit? I know it's a longshot but we've got a history of ponies returning to their homes for a brief while before returning back here.

[There's a good few moments of silence from her end. When she speaks again her voice is still low and tense, but perhaps just the tiniest bit less angry sounding.]

...If that's what's happened, her timing really sucks.

But I guess that's possible. A similar thing happened to a friend of ours not too long ago...

[And there was something their teammates said they experienced back home that Ruby hadn't yet.

Which...neither had she for that matter...]

I can't take the chance she's not still trapped somewhere in the Dreamscape though.

Yeah I realize that, and while we have no way to verify if she went home for a bit or something, then all you can do is wait. If your friend went away for a bit, it might happen here.

[Lyra knows how bad it can get, trust her.]

I know, so see if you can get help doing that dreaming thing with someone else. I don't have the skills to do it unfortunately.

[She has a vague recollection from her time in the Dreamscape of a pony that seemed to know what she was doing there. That's as good a start as any.]

People are still trapped in the Dreamscape.

[That's what she's hoping choosing to assume at the moment.]

[Though Yang couldn't see Fluttershy's eyes widened and her ears perking up in surprise, she might catch the sound of a small gasp.]
