[Applejack appears, but she's not really looking at the camera. She's holding her hat in her hoof, and her mane hangs over her eye. It's safer that way, because she's really about to lose control here.]

I know some of y'all are waiting to hear how it went, meeting her. Calice.

Well, we know a few things more about her, and we'll tell you what you want to know, but more important than that right now is...I failed a friend of mine. Two friends, counting Calice. Our words couldn't reach her, and she's more determined to fight us than ever.

Worse, Fluttershy---the one with the little digi-critters---she saved our hides, but Calice snagged her. She's trapped, and knowing what I know now....

I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.

[Unable to say another word for now, she closes the scroll, about ready to cry.]

[A scoff. Damn it, why do they always have to cry?]

[Although it'd be a lot easier if he could just remember how.]

[But in all honestly he'd rather just shut up and go. See, this is why it's so much easier to do things alone. Or with a robot. Or with some jackass you only mildly care about. Getting this many people mixed up in his shenanigans was never a part of his plans. If he can't fix this himself, then what's the point?]

You can start by cutting out the self-pity crap. I can't stand that.

[She swallows, narrows her eyes...and nods, pulling herself into some semblance of 'together' with incredible effort. She's not okay, but she can try if it means still working to save her friend.]
