27th New Dream [Text]
[Nozomi's been a little listless since this all started and she's opted to write her thoughts down on something. That something, unknowingly, is her scroll.]
Hope. I feel that we have lost that feeling. That we are so used to Calice's actions that, when we lose a friend, it's not the hope that they'll come back someday, but the hope that Calice will show mercy and send them back, on purpose or on accident. We've already lost to her in anything meaningful that way.
We fear her, even if we don't realize it. We fear her and what she can do. What we fear, we hate. And what we hate, we want to prove we're better. We drew weapons from our homes in order to protect ourselves from her.
We can't hate Calice. We can't fear her. She needs us as much as we need each other. She's hurt and wounded.... well, maybe not wounded, but just hurt. And yet...
We need to understand her. We need the patience to find a way to help her. Once we do, we can push forward and never give up, and we can't give that up for a second.
Knowledge. Tranquility.Effer Effir Effervescence. Passion.
Karen. Komachi. Urara. Rin.
Nozomi.
Hope.
My name means 'hope'. I need to help them. I want to help them. I want to help her.
...Calice. I want to help Calice. If I can help Calice, I can help anyone. If I can give her hope, I can give anyone hope.
That's what I want to do.
I want to be everyone's hope. Starting with Calice.
[Audio]
Oh, darn, I'm out of room on here... wait, what is this...? AHHH! I WROTE THIS ON MY SCROLL!

We're too focused on her. A million ponies acting alone is nothing; not help, not hinderance, just a distraction. A million ponies acting in tandem can change anything they put their mind to.
We need to trust each other first, or else there won't be any hope, from you or anywhere.
[audio]
I think we all are acting selfish right now.
[audio]
[She's been fighting with her own selfishness a while. But she's at least reached the point of admitting it, by now.]
Nobody here's perfect. We need to stop expectin' 'em to be.
[audio]
...maybe that's our problem. We've tried so hard and so long to either fit in here or try to live up to what this world has, we've kinda forgotten who we are?
Even if I do keep saying I want to be a Princess, I should remember who I am.
Maybe instead of trying to one up everyone or trying to be a member of Ponyville, we should be... ourselves?
[audio]
[A pause, then a headtilt.]
You still want to be a Princess after seeing the way folks basically turned their backs on Celestia and Luna for something as simple as poor communication?
[audio]
We're used to doing things our way. Like with the incident with Zetta and the moon, we were all inclined to go smash things instead of trying to give things the benefit of the doubt. We wanted to go and beat up Zetta because he was "the bad guy" and not once did we realize there was something more to it.
[And Nozomi's tone takes a more sadder tone...]
We trusted ourselves to make things better. We trusted in the powers we took to help us and not once did realize that things were already being set to fix these things...
...because I don't think we ever trusted either of them.
[audio]
And you know what?
Until the princesses showed their cards and revealed it was to trick Cálice? It worked. Zetta proved that, in the light of a horrible situation, we could band together, work together, without any problems whatsoever.
Then everything fell apart. Not because we lost trust in the princesses... but because we never trusted anything here in the first place. Not the princesses, not the situation... not ourselves. Nobody was willing to stand up for anyone else, willing to put their trust in them any more. We were all just a million ponies, working alone. All of us. Native and offworld, pony and dragon and griffon, princess and commoner.
And we've just been sliding downhill from there. It might not have seemed like it at the time, but I think Cálice won that battle after all.
[audio]
No, you are right. We've been so determined to do things our way and handle things in our own way...
Flare, right? If I were to be a Princess... no, no... even now, even though I'm a screw up and a klutz and probably being a lot more hopeful of everything now than I should be... could you trust me? I don't have any powers to give o-or positions to fill or anything like that and I'm not asking you to be my friend.
If you could... could you trust me?
[audio]
I can trust anyone - and everyone - t'do exactly one thing: be themselves. And everything I've seen from you before now, kid? Granted, it ain't much, we hardly know each others' names... well. Let's just say I already thought of you as havin' leader potential before we even had this conversation.
So y'didn't even need to ask.
[audio]
And my name's Nozomi. Nozomi Yumehara. I promise not to let you down!
[audio]
[At least, she assumes Nozomi's too young. Who knows, with Mayfield being the way it is.]
[audio]
[audio]
[She's teasing, Nozomi.]
[Visual]
And hope? Is a lot of things to a lot of people.
[Visual]
I think we need to start... small. Work our way up to the big things!
Re: [Visual]
[Visual]
But, where do we start? We tend to butt heads greatly to focus on one of us and everyone's so conflicted on someone like Calice...
...maybe Celestia?
[Visual]
And from trusting one person, everyone will learn to trust more.
