What I did back home was less official, though.

At least a Night Market guard is better than no guards at all... One day someone needs to have a serious discussion with this town's mayor.

Usually, this place is peaceful enough to not need any protection. The only nearby threats are from the Everfree Forest, and the stuff in there rarely comes out.

Rarely is still not never. The monsters near Clock Town rarely ventured our way as well, and we still had plenty of guards. It's only common sense to be prepared for all possible threats.

There's a line between prepared and paranoia.

Plus I'm not sure Equestria has enough military to post guards at every city.

Is it really paranoia? There's no denying this town gets attacked...

People like us are usually more than enough to keep things in check. You'd be surprised how many off-world ponies here can fight.

Froms the sounds of things, they've been dealing with the same sort of stuff we have, with Dogs being taken into Calice. It's possible they could have noticed a few patterns we haven't.

If nothing else, they could make good friends, and here, friends mean power.

You keep saying that, but I've yet to see any proof of it.

You've only been here for a month or so. There was a big example of it back in February, during the Windingo incident.
