Why did I wind up in a barrel again?

[There's a small green-clad child climbing out of a barrel, soaked in water. He takes his hat off and with a practiced flick of it, removes the water from the long hat.] I should really find something else to wear, Grandma did a good job with it but outfit's getting threadbare.

[Looking up into the sky, he shielded his eyes.] Land everywhere, new sky, this isn't the Great Ocean or New Hyrule... if we even find one that is.

[He pokes at the fallen scroll.] Hey, listen! I'm Link, and I need to know the directions to the nearest dock. I'm sure Tetra's waiting for me to get my sorry behind there.

Uh yeah, and hmm... if you have side quests I can do, please lemme know? I don't have my wallet of rupees, it must have fallen out when I landed in a barrel.

[He's beginning to have doubts about whether this kid actually beat Ganondorf or not. He should know better than to underestimate, given his own origins, but this kid was something else.]

[That thought comes to a screeching halt after a few seconds, however. He stops in his tracks, holding out a hand to stop the other Link.]

Hold on.

[He points off to the side at a very important sight: a pottery shop, complete with a large display out front.]

[Clearly, this is more important than finding the Master Sword.]

[Pots. The siren call of any adventurer. Who knew what was inside them? Such... irresistible urge... to smash them.]

Do... you think pots have things we can take?

[I mean, he could use a few more arrows and bombs and he was scuffed up from his bout with Gannondorf. The ringing in his ears from low hearts was getting annoying.]

I'm short on bombs.

[Because that's all the excuse he needs, apparently. The locals won't mind, right? It'll help in saving the world, after all.]

[To make matters worse, none of these pots had anything in them. Oops.]

This is so weird... that bucket I broke a while ago had a heart in it...

[Link is disappointed. So is the shopkeeper, but for different reasons. Also, they might be more frightened than disappointed. Frightened, and calling the guard. Not that this pot-smashing idiot notices.]

...I have a blue potion, if you need it.

Thanks. I'm out of soup, I forgot to get some before the final battle. Grandma's soup is the best stuff in the world.

[It would explain why he hasn't drank any potions yet.]

[Link digs through that little pouch on his side, and produces a bottle of blue potion that should not have been able to fit inside. He offers it to the other Link.]

Thanks. [Taking the bottle he popped it open and chugged. Immediately he felt his strength returning despite his aches becoming numb.]

That's the ticket. Not as good as grandma's soup though. [He hands the bottle back, re-energized.]
