2nd Idea [Accidental Visual]

[With everything settling back down again, it should be the best time to relax. But it apparently was the opposite for Tadashi, who could be seen pacing around his room at the commune. His tail flicked with every turn, and the expression on his face was more agitated and troubled than normal for those who had seen him before.

Another passing turn had him pausing, finally noticing the scroll was open. And for a moment he almost seemed to glare at it, his hardened expression persisting as he debated whether to simply roll it up.

But it only lasted a moment before his expression softened, and he managed a small, if somewhat weary smile.]

Anyone feel like grabbing a drink?

...Or taking a walk. Or...something.

[It just seemed like he could use the company.]

[He wasn't sure why she didn't want others to know, but he nodded anyway.] Yeah, okay...I promise.

Great! So, here's the gooooorge!

[She hops to the edge and leans over.] It's pretty far down, but there's all sorts of paths and stuff carved into the wall, so it's not hard to get down! Ponies come out here to farm gems sometimes. I bet they will more now that we're all good with the Diamond Dogs!

[Coming to stand next to her, he peers over the edge.] Wow...that's pretty steep. So, what makes it so ghastly? [Besides quarry eels.]

[sailorlaughter]

Probably mostly the eels~!

And one time my friend Rarity got kidnapped by Diamond Dogs out here, 'cause she's got a gem-finding spell and they wanted her to help their mining! But it was called that WAY before then!

Huh...so just, "things can happen" kinda thing, huh?

[sailorlaughter]

Yeah! Plus I mean, "the Gorge" would be a pretty boring name.

Okay okay okay, so check this out! [Pinkie fishes a cupcake out of somewhere, because of course she did, and drops it over the edge.

About a third of the way down, a massive eel shoots out of a hole in the cliff face to snap it up.]

Whoa...! That was the eel?

[That thing was huge!]

One of them! There's a bunch in there!

Geez...Are they really aggressive?

[sailorlaughter]

I dunno about THAT. They come out if something crosses their holes, so sometimes they try to get pegasi, but if you don't go near them they don't really do anything.

I see...then just protective then. [He could understand that.]

[sailorlaughter]

Also maybe they eat birds!

[Sure why not.]

Well...gotta eat something, I guess.

Yep! Maybe they eat rocks too, I dunno.

Oh! That's another thing! Every now and then you get rockslides out here, so a lot of ponies don't like to go by themselves! We're fine up HERE, though, that's mostly if you go down to the bottom.

Rock slides, huh...? Yeah, I can see where the buddy system would be a good idea. How far does the gorge go?

[sailorlaughter]

About a mile that way. And there's caves underneath! I dunno how deep they go, but it's pretty deep.

Wow...that's pretty cool. And you said the Diamond Dogs have mines down in those tunnels, right? [He didn't know much about mines, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to explore them a little.]

[sailorlaughter]

Yep! Turns out their city's a ways that way though! I didn't know that before, I'm not sure any ponies were even allowed down there until recently!

Really? [He did remember the Diamond Dogs' announcement saying that they were opening up the mines to ponies.] So I'm guessing the dogs and ponies didn't get along very well before, huh?

[sailorlaughter]

Not really, no! Most ponies were scared of them! Ponies are scared of a lot of things sometimes...

...but they DIIIIIIIIID kidnap Rarity, so there were reasons!

I see...

[Fear would be a good reason that they wouldn't get to know their neighbors, reasons or no.]

Well, I guess this is a good chance to learn more about them.

[sailorlaughter]

Yep! I'm probably gonna go down and visit sometime! The city, not the mines, I don't really need any gemstones or monsters or anything.

[He nodded.] Visiting the city sounds like a good idea. I might take a look sometime myself.
