First Ray of Sun: Enter the Otenko [Visual]
[It's a wonderful day, isn't it, Ponyville? Fall is just starting out, and the sun is shining brightly overhead. It's a wonderful sun, isn't it? So nice, in fact, that the scroll is showing an image of it, itself! ...Or, wait, that's just a standard feed. Seems like whoever's recording has it just laying on the ground outside for whatever reason.]
[Okay, so it's not too interesting. However, closer inspection reveals that a corner of the feed is actually in shadow. Seems to be a building, of sorts. Perhaps the balcony of the Town Hall, judging by its round appearance. Seen on it is a silhouette of a bird. A rather large bird, come to think of it, and it appears to be... shimmering? Like it was slightly on fire, minus the actual burning and light. After a moment, the figure spreads its wings and majestically takes off from the balcony! A cry can be heard as it takes flight...]
Taiyyyoooooooooooohhhh [THUD]
[...and immediately falls out of the air in a horribly failed attempt and crashes directly into the scroll, revealing that the bird is, in fact, a yellow-colored phoenix. Don't see that in Ponyville too often. It recovers quickly enough, now standing somewhat on top of the feed as it- he- muses to himself.]
Hm! It would seem that flying with wings is quite different than floating! Something I shall have to adjust to, given the situation.
[It's at this point he finally notices what he's standing on. Its use had been explained to him upon arrival, but he never got a chance to play with it, especially since this was not designed with wings in mind. Regardless, he does manage to figure out why this scroll seemed to be behaving oddly.]
...Ah, it seems to be functioning. Must have done so when it fell off the balcony. Does this mean I am being recorded, I wonder?
[...If he is, he may as well say something.]
Greetings, anyone who may be be listening or watching! I am Otenko, Messenger of the Sun. It would appear that I have been relocated to this quaint, if rather strange, town. I know not why, but I am certain the answers shall reveal themselves in time, but for now, I suppose I should work on being able to navigate it.
[Since that's going so well right now.]
In any case, I shall look forward to meeting those that use this device, as well as the rest of the inhabitants of the town. May the Sun be with you!
[And with that, he walks off to go try the balcony again, this time taking the scroll with him. It manages to turn itself off after a few moments of movement.]

I mean, you just keep on doin' what you're doin'. Seems like you got a good thing going on, really gettin' into it. But, y'know, maybe try and take things up with the Big C if you're doing this whole bit.

[Either way, the news doesn't faze him at all.]
I have heard of Solar Children before, but a Solar Pony? Do elaborate!
no subject
Don't worry though, as far as royalty goes she's pretty legit. She kinda acts like everypony's mom, but you learn to roll with it.

[The whole turning into a bird thing doesn't work wonders for focus.]
I shall have to get into contact with her. Moving the sun! That shouldn't be possible! If only Django could hear about this.

[Vinyl chooses to enunciate the D there.]
I mean, we've been gettin' all kinds over here.

What's even up with all this sun stuff, anyway? Guessin' the whole sunrise-sunset thing's usually your deal back home?

[Pinkie flaps her forelegs like wings.]
no subject
[He's new to wings, okay?]
Nothing that can't be mastered with practice!

[Bye mate she's gone]
no subject
[...Aaand she's gone. Huh. That was odd.]
no subject
[Now she's right next to you. Welcome to Pinkie Pie.]
Welcome to Ponyville! Here's your free Welcome to Ponyville Cupcake - totally not chocolate! [She's not totally sure how to give it to someone with wings though. Huh.]
no subject
[But he didn't, so excuse him as he just about falls over at her greeting.]
Ah- You don't waste time! Thank you for the offering.
[...He's not sure how to take it, either. Can he just use his beak? Sure, he'll try that, attempting to take it and meeting... moderate success. Some frosting and crumbs might hit the floor but that's about it.]
[Doesn't make it any less awkward.]

I've never met a phoenix that could talk before. Were you always one, or did you used to be something else before you got here?
no subject
Nor have I met a pony that could talk before. A first for both of us, it seems! And no, I did not have this form before I arrived here.
no subject
I think you're the first person we've had turn into a phoenix though! That's really cool!
no subject
[That doesn't sound narcissistic at all.]
How common is this? People from other worlds arriving suddenly and turning into ponies and other sorts?
no subject
no subject
[That, and he's really got nothing better to do.]
no subject
So, my name's Pinkie Pie! What's yours?
no subject
[He won't get into the bit where the moon's light is a reflection of the sun and end up in a big discussion about all that.]
I am Otenko, Messenger of the Sun!

[He motions to the item in question, which was on the ground nearby.]
[...He's really going to have to get a bag.]
It is that easy? I shall have to figure out how to use it properly, in that case.

[Don't mind him examining the thing for a moment.]
