[There's a Fluttershy on the scrolls, looking rather worried and trying not to be upset.]

H-Has...anyone seen Sunset or Donnie...? The...Donnie with Digimon...

I...I-I was trying to call them, and...I-I couldn't reach them...

I-I...I think Donnie's gone again...

[He looks up at this, giving her as reassuring a smile as he can.]

Hey.

Come sit; I ordered a pot for us.

[With a slight nod, she goes to sit at the table across from him.]

Thanks...

[She hesitates for a moment.]

Wh-When did you...find out? About...Donnie, I mean...

[A small sigh.]

This morning. I had gone to his room to ask him a question about something we've been working on and...well.

He and his pets were both gone.

[Weariness creeps into his tone.]

I'm sorry if I didn't tell you. I wasn't exactly in a talking mood.

[She nodded a little.] It's okay...I understand.

[She had been upset when she found out too. Enough that she hadn't made the scroll post right away.]

[He looks down into his tea, quiet for a moment.]

It never gets any easier, does it? Even after...shell, how long have I been at this?

[A year in Kon Ran. Two years in Panem. Two years here, now.]

You get tired, but it still hurts. Its never a comfort, never has been.

[She nods.] Mm...Th-Though I guess it...would never be easy...losing someone...

[Regardless of how you lose them.]

It can get easier.

[He quietly pours a cup for the pegasus.]

But when you get to that point...well, you don't want to get to that point. I'm just glad that Donnie came here, you know? At least here its not so...oppressive.

[A pause before he sips again. He knows its not exactly comforting, and really, he'd prefer nothing bad happening, but...]

At least Calice just...stares at us. Even if its terrifying. At least its not numbness you feel from it.

[She gives a soft 'Thank you', blowing a little on the tea before taking a sip.]

Mm...I don't know if I'd ever want to get at that point. Even with how much it hurts...I prefer to miss them if they're gone...

[Although it would be better if she didn't have to miss them. But one can't always have what they wanted.

She hesitated a moment, looking down into her tea cup.]

Mm...I-I guess it...could be worse...

...We'll get him out of there.

[He looks back up at Fluttershy.]

No matter how long it takes. Zecora...she said that Twilight's still in there somewhere. If we can get to Twilight, we can get to everypony else. We can save everypony else, Donnie included.

I've lived in worlds where people don't come back. I'm not going to waste the chance here knowing others can be saved.

[She nodded a little. She'd heard about what some of the others learned about when they went into Calice, and while she was still scared for Twilight - and everyone in there - knowing at least Twilight was there somehow made her feel a little better.

But she knew they still had to keep trying too. For Twilight, and for everyone.]

Right...We have to help however we can...

The question is how. I doubt diving in is going to help much, Calice practically breathed down our necks. She expects us to do that again, I think.

[Fluttershy thinks about that for a moment.]

[She nodded.] Something like that...show Calice that, no matter what happens...friendship does exist...let her know that we won't stop making and being friends...

But how do we make friends with her? Talking to her hasn't helped, and even after two years, she hasn't exactly budged on the subject.

...I think she has, in a way...Maybe not as much as we would have liked...b-but it's been enough that Twilight has been...reacting more, I think...?

I-It's been slow, but...I think it's been helping, a little bit...

W-Well...maybe not reacting exactly, but...something has been weakening Calice's magic...

When Zetta became an alicorn, something happened...like, Calice's magic broke somehow...It took a while for things to go back to normal, but...I-I don't know, it hasn't...felt exactly the same since then...

[He's quiet at this.]

Yeah, I mean, I know we turned back to our true selves, but I'll admit I didn't really notice a difference. But you did...?

[She hesitates a moment.]

I'm not exactly sure...I-I can't really explain it. Something just feels a bit different...

[Maybe it's because she'd been gone and came back. She's not really sure.]

[Its moments like these where Don wishes he's a little more spiritually sensitive. He seriously couldn't feel any difference.]

I wish I knew what I could tell you. I guess I'm so used to the whole 'oppressive air' thing that...I can't always tell the difference in the air.

Mm...I-I don't know. I could be wrong...

[Maybe it was just wishful thinking.]
