First Script: Hangin' Out at the Corner
After a quick stop at the bank to exchange her Cerilian currency to something more Equestrian, Maebhrin spent a short time wandering around town to take in the sights. It seemed like a nice place, though there were one or two places that she mistook for inns, which made cause for apologies to the residents...
In truth, it didn't take her very long to figure out exactly where Sugarcube Corner was, although she was rather slow about poking her head in--there were certainly enough other ponies there to make sure business was hopping, and she didn't intend to be a bother to anyone.
At least it was a popular place, and Pinkie wouldn't be out of a job any time soon, right?
After talking to herself for a few moments (mostly to get up her courage around so many others), Mae stepped in, and took her place in the line. It was either shorter than she'd imagined, or Pinkie was a marvel of efficiency, for it took no time at all for the former elf to find herself face to face with the pink pony.
"Well met. One welcome cupcake, if you please? So is this a confectionary?" Maebhrin asked, taking in the atmosphere--and the oh-so-pleasant smells that threatened to make her stomach grumble.
Maybe she'd pick up some cupcakes for the other ponies in training, now that she had proper currency. Though she wasn't entirely sure how she'd manage to get them there...
(ooc: she'll probably be here for a while, feel free to run into Mae if you like!)

Maebhrin blinked, looking rather stunned. Underneath her coat, she may have even blanched a little. "You've never heard of an elf before?"
How to explain that. How to explain her people, especially? Mae frowned a little bit, and then shook her head.
"To be terribly brief, a bit like humans, I suppose, with more slender builds and pointed ears." And how angry her parents would be, should they hear the proud Sidhelien described so! "Longer lived than humans, however. Normally, elves do not sleep, either, but since becoming a pony, I seem to have discovered the habit..."
Mae shook her head again, and sighed. "That is terribly brief, as I said, and I likely do my kind a disservice, but we could be here for days if I chose to try to explain elves in any great detail." She gave a weak chuckle at that.

How to explain this simply...
"Well, one tribe is Dragons, and then there's two bird tribes, and then Beasts. Ah don't want to call 'em animals, though they can change into what ya might think of as one?" She frowned, "It's...hard ta explain 'em without givin' folks the wrong idea. But at least Ah can tell ya what a beedle nut is easy. It's a small nut from a tree full of 'em, and ya have to hold the nut real careful, or it'll stick your fingers together. But you can eat the nut inside, and ya can use the oil from 'em for insect bites. Real handy, that."

She shook her head. "And still, my knowledge of them is only basic, from scrolls I have read, so even my information might be faulty. Beedle nuts, on the other hand, sound as if they might be useful, even if they are a potential mess. Though probably less so as we get on towards winter." Considering most insects didn't hang around when the snow flew.

"I agree. Both with the idea of tails, and judging someone on how they are, rather than what they are. Perhaps on what they do, as well, though I suppose it's much the same, is it not?"

Briefly, she wondered why that lesson had been easy enough for her to learn, and yet so many other Sidhelien found it impossible. She smiled, but it was a little sad.
"I wish it were an easy lesson to learn."
