First Script: Hangin' Out at the Corner
After a quick stop at the bank to exchange her Cerilian currency to something more Equestrian, Maebhrin spent a short time wandering around town to take in the sights. It seemed like a nice place, though there were one or two places that she mistook for inns, which made cause for apologies to the residents...
In truth, it didn't take her very long to figure out exactly where Sugarcube Corner was, although she was rather slow about poking her head in--there were certainly enough other ponies there to make sure business was hopping, and she didn't intend to be a bother to anyone.
At least it was a popular place, and Pinkie wouldn't be out of a job any time soon, right?
After talking to herself for a few moments (mostly to get up her courage around so many others), Mae stepped in, and took her place in the line. It was either shorter than she'd imagined, or Pinkie was a marvel of efficiency, for it took no time at all for the former elf to find herself face to face with the pink pony.
"Well met. One welcome cupcake, if you please? So is this a confectionary?" Maebhrin asked, taking in the atmosphere--and the oh-so-pleasant smells that threatened to make her stomach grumble.
Maybe she'd pick up some cupcakes for the other ponies in training, now that she had proper currency. Though she wasn't entirely sure how she'd manage to get them there...
(ooc: she'll probably be here for a while, feel free to run into Mae if you like!)

The cup, of course, has Maebhrin curious.
"Well met, Lucia," she says, nodding. "What have you there? And might I join you?"
no subject
And she's showing off her vast, vast knowledge just to show it off as Twilights are prone to. Khafe was rare on her world, and mostly served in one particular place.

"It smells interesting, but I might stick with my tisanes. I do not think I need that much in the way of stimulation. Unless, of course, I plan to spend the night in a library, without sleeping..."
Though her smile suggested that she was both not averse to doing so, and had probably done so in the past, when a library had been present.

"Oh gods, I remember those days. Those were good days, but I fear they're long past me."
Lucia sighs, looking out the window. "This is a town - a town, not even a city - where glass and sugar and butter and cream are not priced dearly. What sort of luxury have we fallen into, Maebhrin?"

Though, to Mae, it didn't sound right, to judge by the look on her face.
"I simply do not know. Still, until something foul shows itself...I feel to judge rashly would be wrong. So I shall wait, and see, I suppose."

Out loud again, she says, "Peace on us, then. I could grow used to this place, but my home cries out for it's own peace. And yours, as well."

She gestured at Lucia's snack. "Though I do not think it ill to reward ourselves, every once in a while."

"Besides, this world has enemies. Make no mistake, this peace has ardent defenders. The Pale Pony, for one - the source of our current displacement."
no subject
"Pale Pony? This is the first I have heard of it--what have you learned, Lucia?"
no subject
which I don't know how to make what is ascii"The Pale Pony is - or pretends to be - a psychopomp, a goddess of death and guardian to the underworld. The savants of this world think that brought us here, and they know that it can command the recently killed. And the recently resurrected... but I will speak no more of that sad tale." She shakes her head.

"Odd. I was not in danger of dying, when I was taken from Diemed. Were you?" Though she did remember quite well what she had been doing, which had been getting ready to take her watch while her party was in the Spiderfell...
That was neither here nor there, though, and she worried at her lower lip, briefly. Hoping her allies--her friends--were all right.

She sighs. "I have been searching for lore on her and on the magic of this place since. It is similar to my own home, which explains the ease with which I was taken. Like worlds are easier to reach."
no subject
It didn't sound good, at least.
"One hopes that it would be easier for you to find the lore you seek, since it should be easy to know where to look. Though if you need an assistant of sorts, all you needs must do is ask. I am not only good for hitting things." Maebhrin chuckled at that, though weakly.
