A'right, when the hay's anypony gonna tell me what exactly a damn "piz-a" is?

I've been asking 'round but not one makes any sense at all!

"Well, the bread is kind of incidental to the toppings, really. Think of it as an open-faced sandwich - the bread is just there to provide support."

Mako scrapes at the ground with one forehoof in the closest thing to a shrug she can get.

"Plus, most of the time, saying 'bread' reminds you of loaves of bread, right? The bread pizza is made with is a lot different, really."

"...I'm not sure what Bolivian bread is like, but for pizza, it's kind of soft, chewy and thin."

She raises one forehoof in front of her and traces a wide circle in the air.

"A pizza is kind of shaped like this, you see? Pizza ovens get really hot, so a thick dough wouldn't cook all the way through in time, which is why it's so thin."

"You bake the bread and the toppings at the same time. If you changed the temperature or the cooking time, the toppings might not get cooked through, or they could burn, depending on what you're using."
