First Attempt: Arrival (video & action)

[ It's a little traumatic to go to your nice, cozy home on the outskirts of Ponyville and find it already occupied. But indeed, what Fluttershy hears upon arrival at the front door is... her own voice coming from inside.

She stays just long enough to peek in a window and see herself cleaning things up before she flees the scene.

At which point she decides that the bridge in front of her house is the safest place to take up residence until she can muster the courage to go inside and see what's going on. In the meantime, she examines the new scroll in her possession. ]


[ A video post goes out some time after her arrival. ]

Um. Excuse me. I’m sorry to bother you all… it’s just that… um…

[ She opens her mouth and tries to speak, then glances behind her, offscreen, looking towards what was until very recently her hut. If she had the courage to go talk to her double right now, she would. But alas. ]

I was just… wondering. Well, it’s not very warm right now and… well, if anypony has a blanket they could spare? Just for tonight, I promise.

Oh, this was a bad idea. Never mind. [ The video clicks off. ]


[ The pegasus might be found wandering around Ponyville in something of a daze a little later, hiding under bushes and things while she tries to figure out what's going on. But for the most part, she'll stay under the bridge until it gets too cramped. And then she'll stay a little while longer. ]

Oh! [Pinkie glances towards the cottage and lowers her voice again. She hadn't realized THAT was why they were whispering before.] Yeah! She's the one who normally lives here, like in this Equestria! The other Fluttershy's on the commune. And now you're on this bridge!

But... oh. [ Fluttershy looks a little disappointed. Usually she lives in that house. ]

Well, I guess I can find somewhere else then. Some of the fields near the forest are pretty soft...

[sailorlaughter]

Don't be a silly filly! You can stay with her! Or with me! We've got an empty bed in Sugarcube Corner ever since First Me went off to Great Bridle!

[kind_to_all]

Oh, no, I don't want to trouble you... [ She'd rather inconvenience herself than another pony, any day.

... Which means an inevitable confrontation with her double, she supposes. ] I'll-- do it. I'll talk to her. [ She tries to look resolved. Doesn't really succeed at it, though. ]

[sailorlaughter]

Okay! Do you wanna go together?

[kind_to_all]

[ Fluttershy hesitates, then nods. ] But. Maybe not right now.

[sailorlaughter]

Okie-dokie-lokie!

Whaddaya wanna do now, then?

[kind_to_all]

Umm... maybe see if there's anything about Ponyville that's changed?

[sailorlaughter]

Ooooh! Okay!

[Pinkie begins hopping off towards town, then.]

Princess Luna - our one, not the one from here - she says that she's gonna build a new part to Ponyville, 'cause there's so many new ponies living here now. Plus the changelings. There's a changeling hive living with us now! One of them's my intern, their name's Potpourri today. It's okay, 'cause they have a new queen, and she's really really nice and we were friends before I ever even knew she was a changeling!

[kind_to_all]

Wow, it sounds like a lot has changed. [ Even though that's only a couple of things. ] Are the changelings really that different? Oh, I'm glad they found a way to live with us... I felt awful about exiling them like that.

[sailorlaughter]

They just do whatever their Queen says anyway, and Melissa wanted them to be friends with us, so now they are!

The old Queen has to be Spike's assistant now, 'cause Princess Celestia said so. HER name was Chrysalis! Well, it still is, but she totally never introduced herself at the wedding. Rude, right? Anyway, her horn got cut off in the big fight, so we're keeping her.

Oh, Melissa sounds a lot nicer than the last queen. Is Spike doing okay? We should make sure we check up on him regularly, just in case...

[sailorlaughter]

He's fine! He just made her shovel some snow and stuff so far.

Oh, that's good. [ She smiles weakly. ] Maybe not all that much has changed about Equestria after all.
