What ho, all! Sorry to be a bother, but I was wondering if anypony knows what it means if you can't catch hold of somepony via these fine little whatsits. There's this fellow, Jay, who's been staying with us on Vantas' farm, but he seems to have disappeared. I mean, I'm not about to go chasing down every fellow who finds an itch to go wandering, but it's been a day or more. There was also another chap I'm having trouble finding. A red fellow with a tiger on his flank by the name of Jan. And then there was another fellow, a very upstanding-looking gent with a rose on the hindquarters going by Tamaki Suou.

All three of them were humans before they were ponies.

[He pauses to ponder.]

Well... Jan might also have been a tiger. I wasn't very clear on the specifics, what with it all being byunbyun due to the zowazowa. Honestly, the cove could do to be a bit more precise about these things. Which does remind me: Are the rest of you actually speaking English? Jan said he wasn't when I mentioned it to him. He said I sounded like I was speaking Japanese, which is a marvelous notion, if utterly mad.

Right, but to the point. Has anypony else noticed their new chums buzzing off for parts unknown sans magical whatsity scroll?

More importantly, these are not the same sorts of rainbows the pegasi make. Or at least, it is not from their factory...

I do not doubt you in the slightest, M'am. Ms. Surprise wasn't certain of it, either, and I think I would have run into fellows like my Uncle Henry by now if this really were Heaven.

Do you know of others who can make rainbows apart from pegasi? Or is it part of their magic?

The rainbows that you or I would see in the sky are doing of a pegasus, yes. It's a reaction between water and pegasus magic that gives them their color.

That is not to say that other magics cannot provide the same reaction - the Elements of Harmony also produce such an effect when used together, for example...

[And that's something that has worried Luna quite a bit, actually.]

Have the Elements been checked on recently, then? Or, I beg your pardon, but didn't you say the Elements were ponies? Ms. Pie is one of the Elements, but now there are two of her.

Is that going to cause some sort of problem?

The Elements themselves are safe, in the care of the native Twilight Sparkle - which is to say, the one who is a princess.

Pinkie Pie herself is not an Element, but rather a bearer of the Element of Laughter; I do not know if both versions could use the Element, but as long as nothing happens to the native Element-bearers, we need not find out.
