1st Love Ballad: Home is Where The Heart Is [Visual]

(There's a confused pink alicorn on the other end of the scroll, turning her head as if she's looking for something in particular.)

Ponyville wasn't like this a moment ago...

(She leans towards the green dragon by her side.)

Aria? I think we went back in time...

(She doesn't seem to notice the scroll until a changeling paws at it and brings it to the alicorn's attention, who seems surprised by its appearance.)

Oh! Is this a magic scroll? A recording magic scroll?

(The creatures by her side don't seem very sure of the answer, so instead of question in, the princess of love composes herself and smiles.)

Well, if that's the case, then hello, everypony! I'm Princess Cadence. I'm not sure what's going on in this Equestria, but if I still have my Pokemon, then something must be wrong. I thought they were left behind in Johto...

(She shakes her head.)

In any case, I hope you're all doing well, especially you humans, if you're here, too. Switching from quadrupedal to bipedal isn't easy and I can' imagine the reverse is any easier.

(The princess laughs lightly.)

...That is if there even are humans here. I hope it's not another incident like the one in Johto...

That's right! They've been changed, too, but I don't think they mind very much. I can introduce you, if you'd like!

Ah'd like that, Your Highness. Couple o'friends train 'em too, an' we kinda jus' changed back from bein' Pokémon, so they're real interestin'.

Oh yes, they're very interesting. I spent a lot of time with them in Johto and I'm so glad that some of them were able to join me here.

(Cadence extends a hoof and a breezie perches herself on it.)

This is Chime, an Audino. She's very good with other Pokemon and is especially good with eggs.

(The breezie perches itself atop Cadence's head as a blue and black griffon comes into view.)

This is Tempo, a Luxray. He's very loyal. I brought him to a Pokemon Center after he was attacked by another Pokemon and he's been with me ever since.

(The griffon is pushed aside by a large paw as a diamond dog steps in, looking very proud of himself.)

And this is Rondo, a Lucario. He's very strong and confident...but maybe a little too confident. And forgetful of his manners.

(The big guy rubs the back of his head before Tempo tackles him offscreen. The scrap between them sounds pretty rough and while Cadence seems somewhat alarmed, it's Chime who flies off to sort things out and let Cadence finish what she's doing. She leans in towards the scroll.)

Those two like to fight a lot.

(Cadence tilts the scroll towards a green dragon that's roughly her size.)

This is Aria, a Sceptile. She likes to keep to herself sometimes, but she's very intelligent. I've seen her try to take up reading all by herself! It's adorable.

(The aforementioned dragon glances off to the side with a light smile on her face. Oh, Cadence, you flatterer.

And lastly, a smiling changeling curiously pokes up from the bottom of the scroll.)

And this is Smooze, a Ditto! She's very curious...and playful, too! She likes shifting her form and pretend she's undercover.

(The little guy waves happily before crawling out of view.)

And that's all of them! They're a very lively bunch, as you can imagine.

[neighfeni]

Hee, they certainly are a bunch. Ah only recognize Ditto an' Lucario, though. Least...think Ah do. Ditto's kinda pink an' squishy an' can make itself look like somethin' else, right? An' Lucario is a blue an' black doggie?

[loveisabattlefield]

Yes and yes! They're really great to be around, when they're not busy having too much fun.

(As hinted at by that offscreen argument with her Pokemon.)

[neighfeni]

Oh, few of my friends were them...Ah forget who was the ditto, but my suitor Morgan was a Lucario. Ah was a Whimsicott, Ah think that plant gal said. She had flowers on her head.

Ah think Ah'd have a heckuva time somewhere like that...Ah'm only used to regular animals...well, regular enough, since we're talkin' ponies an' one of my siblin's is a dragon.

A dragon sibling and a suitor, hmm? It sounds like you have a very special group of friends, Nephenee. I'd like to meet them one day.

[neighfeni]

My family an' friends are a lil' special, yeah. At least the rest o'my siblin's are ponies?

[Neph you have a cat mom and pony dad. Your entire adopted family is special.]

Well, the dragon's my mentor, Dante. He's a lil' crazy, but a good fella, if a lil' flashy. Suitor's Morgan at the Dojo where we teach. Also flashy. Ah'll hafta see 'bout introducin' all y'all one day.

So you're from Equestria originally, Your Highness?

[loveisabattlefield]

(Cadence makes a mental note to remember those names and see if she can't meet them herself. Both sound like very interesting characters.)

That's right. It's exactly like this one, at least in looks. Mine didn't have any offworlders appearing, but it was still as exciting as Equestria tends to be.

No humans an' robots an' such in your world, then? [She's having a hard time picturing it, really.] Ah wonder if your Equestria is the same as Miss Applejack's an' one of the Twilight Sparkles'...
