I have to admit, it was a surprise to end up here from home! I thought it might have been a domain, at first, but. Well. I suppose being on a different world is fine as well! And at such an exciting time too! Aside from the Hunter's Tournament, Tokyo didn't have anything left like the Games here! I'm sure they'll be interesting. Is it always so exciting here?

And...

[She turns once more onto her back, looking up into the sky.]

It really is beautiful here, to see the sky for the first time.

You didn't have the sky where you were from? Most of the folks that mention Tokyo around here tend to be from worlds with... y'know. Sunlight. And clouds. That sort of thing.

A Tokyo where the sun shines....that would be wonderful. Maybe someday it will happen. But not where I'm from for a long time. Not as long as the Dome exists.

[Flare. Of course you're still here. That is, in an odd way, a relief. Not an ally perhaps, but the closest thing to one that Lucifer could count on, as Aleph was no longer present.

Ever since the demons came, and the angels to fight them, Tokyo had been under siege. When it threatened to carry over into the rest of the world, the other nations decided to destroy Tokyo. Tokyo only still exists because of the Dome.

That was twenty five years ago. If it hadn't been for this...I didn't even know what sunlight would look like!

[Angels and demons. This was rubbing her a little too familiar, but it was easy enough to choke down. Not like they were concepts limited to a single world; even her own Equestria had its own analogue with the Searchlights and Nightmares.]

Is it really worth survival at that point, though? Twenty-five years is an entire generation...

[Lucifer wonders for a moment if you're trying to lead the discussion Flare. If you're trying to find a way to pinpoint her, to lead her into revealing herself. Then again, she could be over-thinking it.

Either way, she can't help but answer the one way she knows how to.]

Even through all the pain, isn't it worth it to keep living instead of dying? Everyone deserves a chance at life, and to see if life can be made better.

They don't...not exactly, anyway. The Canterlot Archives samples different worlds and a few friends and I found ourselves in one some time ago. As far as I'm aware, no one's encountered any since.

If nothing else, it means you're unlikely to bump into any during your time here.

[The basement? Well then. There had certainly been strange things about it the last time it was here. But this could call for a re-examination. Although, it was unfortunate that the domains seemed so rare. So unlikely.]

That's good. The domains are some of the most dangerous things you could wander into, unless one of the angels from the firmament appeared.

In order to avoid the destruction of the city, the god Masakado used his body to cover it and protect it. The only lights we've had have been the electric lights of the city for the last twenty five years.

Back home, it was the pegasi. They tired of the folly of the surface world and retreated to their own folly, blotting out our sun with their cloud cities. All save a few rebels.

It seems like a long time ago, but it's been mere weeks.

[Creatures that hated what they saw the foolishness of the surface world and exiled themselves high above it...yes. Lucifer knew such creatures well. And hated them.]

How awful! It's always unfortunate when there's those who give up, and abandon the actual fight that might be going on.

Time. Time is such a funny thing.

[How long had it been since his previous trip here? A thousand years on his time? Two?

It doesn't matter. Time has never really mattered.]

But with time comes change. And renewal.
