[The network opens to a shot of a light brown pegasus stretched out on the grass. It rolls this way and that, basking in the warmth of the sun, before its head rolls towards the scroll. The girl smiles a little before speaking.]

Hi!

I have to admit, it was a surprise to end up here from home! I thought it might have been a domain, at first, but. Well. I suppose being on a different world is fine as well! And at such an exciting time too! Aside from the Hunter's Tournament, Tokyo didn't have anything left like the Games here! I'm sure they'll be interesting. Is it always so exciting here?

And...

[She turns once more onto her back, looking up into the sky.]

It really is beautiful here, to see the sky for the first time.

(Her expression becomes more serious as she prepares her answer.)

At the moment, I think it's a lot of things...which is a possible answer in itself. As in the Alpha and the Omega. I believe she's the bringer of harmony and the goddess of death. She's a being who has existed since long before the princesses and has come from the future. For as divine as Celestia and Luna are, I believe the Pale Pony to be a true god, perhaps the god of this Equestria.

I believe everyone she brings here is being tested for their harmony: how well they adapt to this world, how they adapt to locals and offworlders, how they adapt to the many events that surface...how corrupted they are...

(She clearly has more to add to this, but Twilight hesitates in doing so, at the very least to give Hikaru a moment to absorb all of that.)

[Hikaru's head tilts back and forth, back and forth, as Twilight talks. The unicorn is right. It's quire a bit to take in. But also something that Lucifer does not have too much trouble comprehending. Time has no meaning to one such as it, who was here before time began in earnest and has already seen how it will die at the end of things for it, in truth. Time, a flat circle, where things that have not yet happened have always been]

A test? But why? It doesn't know any of us who aren't from here....

[And then?

She can bear it no longer.

It had been strain, almost torture, to not reveal itself in full yet to Flare. In truth, Lucifer almost regrets its choice not to have done so. Even now, it realized Flare was the closest thing it had to a ~~friend~~ ally in this world. But it could not. Not quite yet. It couldn't be sure that, with the current situation, the mare wouldn't (perhaps correctly) recognize Lucifer as a threat and pay it too much attention. Too much attention now, especially when even Lucifer was unsure as to what to do now. It was an uncomfortable feeling, and the Demon Lord questioned so much right now. And to question, after so long, was such a painful moment.

But Twilight?

Even if Twilight might not be able to share its alignment, or even come close to being of like mind with it, she was far more trusting than Flare would be, especially since she and Lucifer had never argued, nor nearly come to blows.

She would be safe to speak with. To reveal herself to.

The air itself seems to darken behind 'Hikaru', as if it became heavier, a weight that Twilight could sense even from the scroll. Her hair seems to twist behind her, suspended and flapping in a breeze that isn't there. Her eyes become orbs, one pure red, the other blue.

Her voice is still Hikaru's, but echoing. Reverberating.]

And what does it mean to be corrupt, Twilight Sparkle? Can such a thing be tested, or weighed?

(Sense it is right. The reveal causes Twilight to take a step backwards and her ears to droop. The air around suddenly feels denser and a chill goes down her spine. That change, those eyes, the reverberating voice...when taken at the same time, it surprises her.

The Morning Star...Lucifer. Despite knowing her true identity, Twilight still considers her a friend. A dangerous one, sure, but the same can be said of Zetta and Discord...and even Pollo, to a certain extent. She regains her composure after a moment.)

...Even if it can't, the Pale Pony may believe she can. The Pale Pony...rather, the being referred to as the "Untainted Mother" is the one who brought the Elements of Harmony to this world...and the one she brought them to proceeded to use that power to level an empire, an empire the writer constantly refers to as "corrupted." To be specific, a ruler who "embraced the Corruption." It wouldn't be wrong to call it a purge.

If they are the same being, then she may be continuing from that point, whether it means doing it herself or--

(She cuts herself off. A thought that crosses her mind unsettles her and it shows.)

...Or finding a new messiah.

[Twilight's discomfort at the suddenness of it isn't a surprise, but it's also not something Hikaru cares about. Allowing its demon self to take the fore, most of its inhibitions are gone anyway. Even for Lucifer, its personality as Hikaru is incapable of empathy and truly caring how it might come off.]

I see. Your hypothesis, then, is that the elements are, or were, tools of judgment, tied to the whims and beliefs of their users and by the Pale Pony. A tool for "good", then.

[She laughs. A cold, bitter sound. This is too funny, too ironic. This has all happened so often before in the worlds connected by the Amala. That it should be here to...it's so funny it almost makes Lucifer cry.

The term "Mother" was important to the forces of Chaos. Was so much more commonly associated with them, while "Father" belonged to the forces of Law. If what Twilight is describing is true, then Lucifer will have to change what little plans had been forming when discussing it with Lucia.

She tilts her head a bit again, nowhere near as innocent a gesture as it had been when she was merely Hikaru.

When Twilight finishes her thought, however....]

Do not use that term in front of me.

Should it want a messiah, I would not be surprised that the one it would find, even here, would be of more worth than many others to bear the title.

(It sounds as if Lucifer has dealt with this very scenario before. Several times, perhaps. Twilight wouldn't be surprised; this is the Lucifer, after all, and if anyone would be familiar with this subject matter, it'd be her.)

I'm still not sure what kind of "good" she wants to accomplish. For all of the testing she might be doing on those of us in Equestria, there are others who are as much victims to her as we are. You've seen the rainbow lights, I'm sure. The ones that bring others in and takes them away. Apparently, all of those taken away aren't sent home or to any afterlife: the Pale Pony takes them into an Equestria devoid of life and color...she takes them into herself.

(That doesn't seem to be the biggest concern on Twilight's mind, however.)

[That is...interesting. But clearly not the main reason for your trepidation, or the concern in your voice.]

That is not altogether different from the idea of a demon's domain, although on a much grander scale. There is only one being I know of that could create a domain on that level.

Regardless....

I expect you've come to much the same conclusion as the alteration of you known as Lucia has: you suspect that you are the Pale Pony.

Am I correct?

...If not me, the possibly Princess Twilight...or Lucia...or maybe another Twilight altogether. I haven't found anything that supports or opposes that hypothesis, so I can't dismiss it. I just...really hope it's not another Twilight.

(That part of her cloning blues is still with her. She doesn't consider herself inferior anymore, but she's become protective of her counterparts. Not overly so, but enough to venture to distant lands in hopes of learning that they don't become cruel goddesses of death.)

If she's really a Twilight, then she wouldn't do any of this without a reason. I'd try to learn what happened to her. I want to know her full story: when and how she became the Pale Pony, why she's doing all of this, where she came from...everything.

That's very much the kind of answer I expected from you.

[Lucifer lays back down on the grass, her wings spreading out over it. It's the same relaxed position she'd opened the network post with. She keeps her eyes, ever gleaming, focused on Twilight.]

If anyone could find an answer to its appearance her, it's purpose, I suppose it would be you.

I had hoped for more to be known since my last appearance here. It has been a long time.

It's been slow going, unfortunately. It's to be expected, I suppose; if she's really studying us, then she'll be doing much more watching than interacting.

A few friends and I have been trying to speed up the process, however. During an attack Zetta arranged in June, a poem was uncovered that spoke of the Elements of Harmony and the Pale Pony. Everything I told you about the Untainted Mother and the Corruption is what we've found up here. We're still looking, but we're helping to rebuild the city as well. It was heavily damaged during the fight with Zetta.
