3rd Ride [Text - Locked from Pollo]

It seems that everyone wants to play hush-hush over all of this, but this is a double-edged blade. Let me tell you a story:

On two worlds, the World of Super Sentai and the World of Kamen Rider, the forces of evil of those worlds plotted to destroy the heroes of those worlds and take over. Two heroes, one of each world, learned of those plans and decided they would save the day by taking over the groups and doing the job for them. They wouldn't kill the heroes, just send them away until the time was right then defeat them all.

But, there was a flaw in this plan - they wouldn't tell a soul of it. They hoped their friends and allies would realize something was up and figure it out. They had to keep up appearances.

This nearly proved to be their undoing. One of those friends was hurt by it. How dare they use them like this without telling them why? So, he nearly brought about the plan in a fit of rage. In the end, the newest heroes of those worlds were able to stop the friend from doing anything he'd regret, but he was hurt by the lies and deceit.

He's probably over it by now, but with him, it's impossible to tell.

I'd think twice about willingly trying to keep a secret this dangerous. Something needs to be done, but advocating secrecy that angers another is not the way to go.

Oh, and if you don't believe my story, ask Captain Marvelous if you see him around sometime.

We're not trying to suit our whims. Mechakara and Pollo are two different AIs living under the same roof. Pollo is legitimately frightened of Mechakara and for very good reason.

We can't save one without suppressing the other for good. I don't like it at all, but we can't just wait for Mechakara to fully re-emerge either.

Has he asked you to save him?

Not trying to play Nightmare's Advocate here, but... well, the more I hear about this, the more I think of someone from my world. And how a couple of ponies with a misguided idea of what was "right" committed an utter atrocity in the name of "protecting Equestria".

I just want to make sure that this is really as good a choice as all of you think.

Flare, do you remember when I returned to this world the first time? When

[He stops. She knows. Of course she knows, she was one of the ones who had hunted him.]

I didn't ask. I know I didn't, because I was so convinced. But the ponies that came to help me, they knew that was what they had to do, so that I didn't hurt myself or others again. Because they knew that if I felt I was able to ask for help, I would have.

Its...a little like that with Pollo. Yeah he doesn't think we're all fake hallucinations, but he's practically a slave to his own fear of Mechakara. Because Mechakara is capable of subsuming his personality and he doesn't always realize it. And he might not until its too late to save him, just like in Kon Ran. And he's scared that if he acknowledges it, it will give Mechakara an opening and we'll be his enemies.

[Flare winces inwardly, which, thankfully Don can't see. That doesn't remind her of Fireheart, no, but someone much more visible in the public eye...]

"Clearly, that pony on the floor is not Nightmare Moon. However, just as clearly, that monster waits inside her for another chance to get out. It's my job, my whole life, to protect Equestria from that. It's my job to protect Equestria from a lot of things."

[It's not really a crisis of faith that Flare is having - she firmly believes Lighthoof was wrong in preemptive 'protection' now - but she's still questioning how wrong he actually was. How many more ponies think this is the best way?]

I won't stop you. But I can't say I'm fully on board with the idea.
