Freaky Friday. Originally based on a children's book from 1972, the movie adaptation came out in 1976 to some fairly high acclaim. One of Gary Nelson's few film forays as a director... he's more known for directing TV series. But he seemed to hit on something good with this film, Zach. One of the original body-swapping stories, it's the one that took root in popular culture as the go-to term for the event.

And it seems like Ponyville's been graced by its tropes today. [Helpful as ever, York.]

For some reason, it's decided to pass over me, but something tells me the rest of you may need some information on who has swapped with who. I'll do my best to keep track of everything. Let me know who you are and who you've swapped with.

Everything old is new again. There are certain ideas and plotlines that get reused throughout the history of fiction. I'm sure the idea of bodyswapping has been played out hundreds of times before... I just prefer to look at everything through the lens of cinema.

Everything changes, and then it comes back to where it started. This has all happened before. It's probably going to happen again.

Yeah sure I mean you can view things however you want I guess. We've all got our ways to make it through crap like this.

Next Halloween, maybe? Though the last one was much more destructive. Maybe in a few years.

Really, it's just a hobby. A way to not look at everything through the lens of crime investigation.

Probably not next Halloween. Most of the times a place like this won't repeat that often. Might do it for another holiday like April Fool's or something. They love screwing around on holidays or anniversaries.

April Fool's was... interesting this year. [That's all he'll say and that's all you'll get.]

[Oh, somebody who doesn't know? Hold on, he's digging his CRIB badge out of his suit pocket.] FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan. Please, call me York. That's what everyone calls me. I've been here about... a year and a half now, probably a little more than that, and it's been slow going.

Mostly because my skills usually lie in serial murder and criminal profiling, which is significantly harder when a: most dead bodies around here tend to explode into rainbows and b: the main "criminal" is possibly a corrupt and insane death god. Maybe.

...Yeah. I can get that.

[There's an April Fool's from a few years back he'll never forget and that he'd sure not like to talk about. So he won't bother trying to pursue York on that.]

Sounds like home, though that's one way to...clean up corpses, I guess. I'm going to go off a hunch and assume anyone ending up dead here anyway is pretty rare.

From what I've heard it's happened in the past. The... er, problem, is them staying dead. A few days, weeks maybe, and they're back on their feet. Hooves.

I can only think of one exception, and that happened before I arrived here, so I don't know the details of that.

That's no surprise. It's usually quicker than that; you die today, you wake up tomorrow.

...Really? Someone stayed dead in a place like this?

Mmhm. Somebody by the name of Nemo Vantas. I think he was buried under the artichoke field in the commune. Not sure on the details beyond that.

[...Well. There's no nice way to say this so he'll just say it. Though it's not like he thinks too hard on how to try and disguise it.]

We sure the body is still there?

I'm not. But I'm not the person to ask.

Best evidence I have is that I haven't seen Nemo alive.

I'll ask around then. Gotta admit, if only a few people ending up dead every few months is as bad as this place gets?
