Boy, that week was a real blast, huh? I think I'm gonna miss being Kyo-chan for awhile...
[He gives a dreamy sigh as he runs a paw through his own, short hair. Easy come, easy go. At the very least, maybe Kyouko will appreciate what he did to her hair.
But being nostalgic for the body swap event isn't the main reason why Teddie is addressing the scrolls this fine morning, oh no.
This is business.]
Anyway, once upon a time ago, I was like "OH YEAH, I'm totally gonna go to school 'cause that's the mature thing to do" and everyone was all "No Teddie, school's closed for the summer!" so Kyo-chan got me a job instead and it was really, REALLY fun!
But now it sounds like everybody's all going to school, even Nana-chan, and I'm starting to bearcome super jealous. I don't know what the heck I should be doing! My schedule's way too busy to fit in both work and school, I'd have to take out a nap and I don't wanna even think about dropping snack time. I dunno how Yosuke manages both...
So I guess my question is, what would you choose? And how much do turtle babysitters run for?

I don't even know what that is or what you're saying to me. No, you moron, I'm not a Shadow, I'm a copy. What are you even talking about?
How is it this hard explaining something to you? And you think you're going to go to school?
[Visual]
B-But it's okay, we can still be friends! I'm a Shadow, too.
[Where the hell did this conversation go.]
Do you need a hug?
[Visual]
It wasn't what Teddie intended, but Pokey's face falls at that, and everything else about his demeanor with it. He just shakes his head for a moment before resting his head on the palm of a hand, trying to look away from the scroll.]
I'm not like you, Teddie.
No, it's fine. I've gotten used to it.
[If you think he's a bully now, you should have seen him a few years ago. And even then, he still hasn't come to terms with himself. Not in full, anyway.]
[Visual]
It doesn't take a genius to figure out something's up.]
I'm gonna hug the heck outta you!
[Visual]
[That is some seriousness unfitting the situation. No. No hugging never. It is clearly forbidden.]
[Visual]
[The scroll's rolled up.
Pokey better watch his back.
A bear may be on his way.]
[Visual]
Just you wait and see.]
[Action]
RAAAAAAAWWWRRRR!!
[Action]
Holy shit.
When it came to hugs, apparently, Teddie wasn't so much fluff and stupid as he was a murder machine, at least as murderous as hugs could be, Pokey suspected. The little dragon is stunned for a moment before scrambling, trying to run from the bear and doing a pretty poor job of it, while haphazardly firing the water pistol. Or ketchup pistol. Whatever.]
[Action]
GET OVER HERE AND LET ME LOVE YOU!!
[But he can manage to scream that.]
[Action]
[Oh my God how much ketchup can someone eat without keeling over dead clearly Teddie is a machine beyond reckoning. It isn't long before the ketchup runs out and Pokey attempts to just throw the stupid gun at Teddie.
Unfortunately, he's also slipping on his back like an idiot. That's kind of the downside of letting your cave floor get littered with shit like photos. But he is done, and it's clear he's not going to be running any longer.
Oh no is this the end shall hugs consume all?]
[Action]
RAAAAAAAAAWWWRRR!!
[And in a flurry of white fur and condiments, he wraps his arms around Pokey as tightly as he can. Or, well, as tightly as he can, but loose enough where he won't squeeze him to death. We don't want to kill our friends here.]
[Action]
Get off! Get offa me, you idiot!
[But it's no use, and soon enough he quiets down. Pokey thinks for a moment of punching Teddie, but before he can put his plan in motion he just...stops himself. And lets the fist he was making fall to his side. He can't do it. And while he can't return the hug, not yet, he just accepts it.
Hugs weren't something Pokey really had the luxury of growing up with. At least, his memories didn't allow him to think of a time he could remember being hugged before the point that his younger brother Picky was able to grasp the concept. He was an unhappy child, and an unruly child and, though he hadn't fully realized or understood it at the time, a neglected and abused child.
Pokey doesn't return the hug, but he lets his head fall limply against Teddie.
Hugs weren't something he really understood. And, for the most part, something he didn't trust. Physical affection hadn't been something Pokey could fully understood, and he had always eyed the concept with at least a little bit of suspicion. Always thought he knew it was just some way people would try and trick you into thinking they actually cared. His little brother was the only one he could trust, and even then Pokey wasn't sure for how long, or if it'd be sincere to exchange any affection with his brother instead of just letting the world toughen him up, if it'd be better to let Picky end up in the same kind of drought of affection because of how bad everything was anyway, in Pokey's view.
And then there was Mayfield. And while hugs weren't exactly common with the friends he had, they were welcome. He had an understanding of them, and the weird fact that that kind of affection was a kind of bonding. And he so didn't want to bond with others here. He just didn't, for reasons he couldn't even describe at times that didn't sound insane.
So he just lets his head rest against Teddie's fear, silent for a moment. And Teddie might feel something slightly wet against him. And, when Pokey speaks, his voice is a rasp, hard to tell what the tone is actually meant to be. As if even Pokey can't figure it out.]
I just want to go home.
[Back to Mayfield. Where he knew what everything was and what actions meant. Back to the people he really knew cared about him and that he could trust.
Back home.]
[Action]
I know, we all do.
[Probably not for the same reasons, but Teddie would also like to go back home. They just restored the TV World, made it like it was before, and he didn't even get a chance to enjoy it.]
[Action]
[He tries to give his voice some strength, but by God does that fall through. He's worn down by Teddie's persistence - and the physical chase didn't help with how tired he is already - and so much so that he doesn't see a point in trying to act tough at the moment. Maybe there isn't one at all. He doesn't know.
And it's so much easier, in his mind at least, to say that Teddie couldn't understand his situation. Couldn't know what it was like to be told he was home, and hate it, and then go out and end up in a torture chamber that ended up being more 'home' than the house he was raised in could ever be. How could he even begin to describe that?]
'Sides, least you'll get to see your home again, if this thing lets us go home after all this.
